I think the Cowboys will win.

They need to win so they shove what Gibbs said in his face. He called Cowboy fans "ugly"

I know the game isn't untill 9-19, but Lets see what people say now.

Reaganrattler07
08-06-2005, 10:55 PM
Lol, he was joking! He just wants the fans riled up for the game. I think the "ugliest" fans are in Oakland...

I think the Redskins will take it this year. Offense should be getting pretty good. And the defense will be just as good or even better.

I wish I could go up to Dallas for the game, though....

dallas, on turkey day, the bears wore those oragne uniforms, which looked kind of cool, cause they reminded me of the fighitng illini uniforms

Reaganrattler07
08-07-2005, 12:54 AM
Dallas had their throwback uniforms or something didn't they? I just remember making a comment on how ugly they were :p ....and yes, I'll come out and admit it before people start saying it, the Redskins have had their share of bad looking uniforms...

what team hasnt? all teams had bad uniforms at somepoint, except newly formed teams of course

Reaganrattler07
08-07-2005, 01:06 AM
Well, when the Redskins had yellow helmets with an R on each side those were pretty bad....and then a few years back they used the "70th anniversary", Coach Gibbs told them to throw out the atrocities....

dragons08
08-07-2005, 01:12 AM
the cubs never had real bad ones, maybe their early 1900's were bad, the bears had one that one year when they played at the illinis' field, 03 i think, and the MNF game against green bay, the bears wore those ugly uniforms, staright dark blue, it looked horrible

Reaganrattler07
08-07-2005, 01:15 AM
Lol, I think every single team's uniform in the early 1900's were pretty ugly....course that's when they wore the leather helmets, right?

Reaganrattler07
08-07-2005, 08:27 PM
Yeah I know he isn't the oldest but Parcells just seems to be goin after any thats just about to retire.....I think he's just worried about keeping his job.

i think he wants the expeirence players becasue you dont know what to except with a rookie, or guy with no expeirence so i guess hes trying to win now

Reaganrattler07
08-07-2005, 08:31 PM
Well, it's gotten to the point where Parcells NEEDS a decent season....to keep his job. Whereas Joe Gibbs is planning for the future...picking up Jason Campbell. I think that might've been to help future coach Gregg Williams.

Reaganrattler07

Pretty much so.....check out www.joegibbsracing.com

Coy Gibbs is "Quality Control - Offense"...not sure what the heck that is...

weird title, quality control offense? maybe just a little name to get him a job?

Reaganrattler07
08-07-2005, 08:50 PM
Yeah, I've never heard of that position before but I think he wanted to be a coach so his dad gave him a spot to start...im guessing. But I think he also needs someone he can consult with who knows the new game and they can talk new strategies.

yup most likely

Reaganrattler07

And Joe Bugel, who was responsible for the "Dirtbags" (O-line, known as the Hogs in the 80's). He's pretty good too. Bill Musgrave as quarterbacks coach.....Ramsey needs him. and they supposedly have a good special teams coach.

but in reality, it relies mostly on the players, the coaches can only do so much

Reaganrattler07
08-07-2005, 09:01 PM
Yeah, but players come and go....it's what the coaches mold them into. But players need to have decent talent though...

yup or they need the system to utilze their strenghts

Reaganrattler07

Yeah....something Spurrier really didn't do with Patrick Ramsey. But Gibbs can make a bad quarterback look pretty good. Did it with Theismann and Rypien.

i always liked ramsey, it seems he always tries his best and dealt with all that crap he went through

Reaganrattler07
08-07-2005, 09:11 PM
Yeah, Ramsey's cool....I used to have him as the desktop wallpaper but changed to Clinton Portis. I think Ramsey just needs to work on decision making and quality passes. Like on short passes he'd throw bullets and people couldn't catch them....one of the more famous were Rod Gardner where they started makin' fun of him cause he "Dropped it like it's hot". and Coles had a foot problem and wasn't happy with the team.

Santana Moss.....he's gonna most likely be our go to guy. We also signed David Patten (Patriots) who will probably be the second reciever. They said that the recieving corps can really move and create seperation...

you guys o should be fine, with portis, pretty good recivers, good qb, hows the oline?

Reaganrattler07
08-07-2005, 09:26 PM
For the oline. we signed Center Casey Rabach from Maryland, we have right tackle Jon Jansen(got a season ending injury in the first preseason game) returning which I heard he is awesome and other than that they should be fine. Just need to open up a hole for Portis. Maybe they can recreate his first run against Tampa Bay.

no offense but i think portis is a great back dont get me wrong, but a little overrated, because of hte numbers he put up in denver, where it seems anyback can excel

Reaganrattler07
08-07-2005, 09:32 PM
Yeah, he is....and he isn't really suited for Joe Gibbs offense. Gibbs' offense was to get a big huge running back like John Riggins. And now cause Portis isn't too big he needed to change his offense a bit. But yeah, he put up pretty big numbers in Denver.

Reaganrattler07
08-07-2005, 09:53 PM
Should be pretty good...just about the same as last year. And I was lookin' at the scores on all the games and in about 90% of the ones we lost, we were within a touchdown....kinda got me mad at the offense.

imagine having the bears offense, oh man they cost us to many games

Reaganrattler07
08-07-2005, 10:03 PM
Well, they didn't have "throw'em at your feet" Brunell.....if I remember when the Skins and Bears were playing, Skins were up 13-10 with seconds left and the Bears threw the ball right into Shawn Taylor's hands....yeah, Shawn Taylor, the same one facing charges in Florida.

im sure the bears set records for most qb's used in a season, we used chad hutcherson, thats how bad we were last year

Reaganrattler07

Reaganrattler07
08-07-2005, 10:27 PM
Yeah, thats one of the things that sucked when Ramsey replaced Brunell....they had adjusted to Brunell and then went back to Ramsey. But Ramsey finished the year pretty good, so everyone's expecting a pretty good year out of him this year.

yea, i dont htink no 8-8 teams get in this year i say 10-6 wil be about the cutoff roughly

Reaganrattler07
08-07-2005, 10:44 PM
Yeah, it was kinda weird how everyone (except the Eagles) in the NFC East got 6-10 records....I think it'll be higher. If Ramsey can get comfortable with passing and Portis can start running, then I think the Redskins will go 10-6, 11-5. Cause most games we played last year, we lost by a touchdown. And a field goal on both Dallas games.

dragons08

i think you guys will go 9-7 or 10-6, i dont think 11-5, looking at your schedule i see this, i think you'll beat us (the bears), i think lose to the boys, lose to the seahawks, lose to broncos, beat cheifs, beat 49ers, beat hte giants, lose to eagles, beat to bucs, beat raiders, lose to chargers, lose to rams, beat cards, beat boys, beat giants, lose eagles, so i guess 9-7 roughly, still a bigg improvment over 04

Reaganrattler07

i do get to catch a lot of cubs game though, i got directtv and we got the fox sports net pack and stuff, so when they play on there i can usually watch it, also when they play on WGN i can watch that as well, i was able to get some illini games as well, the bears games i can only get on monday night football, sunday night football, or nfl sunday ticket, usually they dont show the bears game on cbs or fox cause of cowboys/texans games

Reaganrattler07

that commerical is so catchy, also the like 8? game on one screen is awesome, but since i dont have it, i just use the NFL channel, they usually sort through and show scores and stats and stuff, its good enough i guess

when you make a poll, is the first selection always Red? I should have put the Redskins on top, then the Cowboys. That would have matched the colors. I know Gibbs was just kidding, he said so in a press conference afterwards.

Well in recent years the Cowboys have absolutely owned Washington.
I'll take Dallas in both games. Is there anyway Dallas can play the 'Skins on Theismann's birthday again? I just wanted to hear the entire crowd sing Happy Birthday again.
The old Cowboys fans will remember what I'm talking about. I think it was in '83 or '84 when it happened.

Those were the two years that the Skins went to the Superbowl....won the first, lost the second....

But do you call winning by 3 points "absolutely owning them"?

I'm talking about recent history...the Skins have won 1 out of how many?
11?12?....that's owning them.

Yeah, but the only one that really matters is last years....course most of the Dallas players have been playing since the 80's...so maybe that is good thing for you all.
