I read on ESPN the other day that he had dropped down to 195lbs... so i don't know who would want him that much anymore, and his desire is still in question.

Keep questioning Ricky's abilty...he (if he chooses) will
make ***** (is that a word?) out of all of you.
The dude is incredible...and if he can take a year off
to go to Africa and smoke the ganjha...
And then come back and smash....?
He's got my vote as one of the greatest.
Until then he is just the greatest Longhorns back...Sorry Earl...
Ricky was the man at UT.

I'm about as big (and obnoxious) a UT fan as there is, but I dont think it's a good thing. Ricky is sending the wrong message and the NFL would be sending an even worse message to kids and fans. If Ricky wants to return... he should have to earn it. On full year with no money and no playing time. One full year of drug rehab, frequent random testing and various "anti-drug" appearances along with a hardcore strength and conditioning program to get him back into shape..

Ricky is one of the most exciting backs in college football history, but he has lost a lot of respect from me and that is something that must be earned back.

i see it as all positive, a) hes giving publicity to the nfl b)if he performs then the news about him being a pot head and what not goes away and c)if he performs miami will have a pretty scary backfield

He's always been a bit strange...what did we expect?
Well I never thought he would go live in a tent and live off the
land...he's got some issues. But he's not the first great back to have
issues. Anybody remember Duane Thomas that played for the Cowboys?
That cat was strange...

I agree...he should do some anti-drug spots for the league...but only if he's clean and means it...but you know what...I don't think Ricky will ever be clean...he just has that vibe about him. He's into this whole natural medicine thing...and getting in touch with nature...His idol is Bob Marley...it's hard to get a man to disconnect from that.

I guess it boils down to if Ricky really wants to play...If his heart is in it...
he could be one of the greatest.

He's has to serve a 4 game suspension and he will have to take many random drug tests for the rest of his career. Another violation and he will be suspended for a year. Personally I could care less if he smokes weed but thats probably a topic for another time and place.

Getting off the wheat germ and bean sprouts, eating a good diet, and lifting weights work.

how can you care less? hes a role model to a lot of people, hes not my role model, but there are people that look up to him, why would we not care if he uses drugs, and sets a bad example to the youth?

but how do you gain 20 lbs? in less than a month? i didnt think it was possible, maybe all he had to do was just rework his muscles back into shape, so it could have taken less time?

Like i said its probably for another time and place. I PERSONALLY dont care. Just out of curiousity-why do you think alcohol is legal and weed is not? Answer that and we will end this line of conversation.

wow good question. i assume it has to do with the governement? maybe they couldnt make money off of drugs? or cause drugs have a more effect on you sooner, while alcohol wont affect you immediatly?

Well, instead of 195 he might have been 199 and instead of 215, he may be 212. So its now 13 lbs gained. Personal trainers, 4,000 calorie diet a day, serious work on the iron. He was on a vegan or vegetarian diet (I cant remember) Plus his natural body weight is probably around 220 and he IS a world-class athlete in his prime. Also muscle weighs more than fat. So I think a 10-20 lb gain in the first month is possible. Its not like he was in shape and then added 20 more lbs (Barry Bonds?)

First of all: Im not endorsing the use of marijuana. It has long-term health effects, it can make you unmotivated, and it probably does lead to worse things in some people. But did anything I just wrote in that last sentence not apply to alcohol. I find it amusing that while yutes (youths-ever see "My Cousin Vinny") are watching the now weed-free Ricky play for the Miami Dolphins on a Sunday afternoon they will be bombarded with dozens of beer commercials. Beer companies will pay millions of dollars to the networks who will pay BILLIONS of dollars to the NFL to televise the now weed-free Ricky.

I PERSONALLY dont care what a responsible ADULT does in his own home within reason. And i hate that this country spends billions of dollars every year arresting and housing people for small amounts of weed when there are many other things that are much more serious.

Before I get banned let me say again that i think smoking weed is bad for you and and a waste of time but I also think it should be a matter of personal choice.

I dont really know why one is illegal and the other is not. Im sure it has to do with government control, taxation, and the fleecing of many pockets in Washington down through the years. I know in the early part of the 20th Century when marijuana was declared a controlled substance and outlawed the "marijuana menace" was greatly exaggerated. Ever hear of "Reefer Madness", the movie where college kids smoked weed and became homicidal maniacs. I remember hearing that racism had a lot to do with it as marijuana was mainly used by poor Hispanic immigrants at that time.

Believe me you'll be better off staying away from all of it. It's just the hypocrisy of it all that gets me.

thats the thing....I really dont care what anyone says about me..just as long as Im me and happy its all good...I never saw it as a bad thing just another habit I was into..to me the way i see it..its all in the mind and the person..
as for me being succesful...I saw that to...and that was another reason i quit...because even though I didnt think it would affect me as a person...i new that for some messed up reason i could end up losing everything i worked for..you know maybe being stoned and get stopped for a busted break light or something..to risky and i worked my butt off to be where im at....

the funny thing is that I do residential house prints on the side..and most of my best designs would come to me when I was on the herb...
