Question Lufkin is running a pistol formation with a mediocre throwing quaterback who is not the quickest and a decent runningback. Honestly the offensive line isn't good enough to hold the blocks long enough for them to run the ball or run play actions why won't they run the ball under center so the trevon lewis can use his speed to hit the corner he has size and strenght to beat most corners. This is not the best offensive scheme to run with these players. But I cant say enough about lufkins defense great job boys.

Don't know if I agree with the bigblake - but welcome aboard! I think the most talented players we have are our 4 receivers - we need them downfield with a chance to make plays. Trevon has shown flashes of being very good, and being very bad. His turnovers hurt as well, and he has a tendency to stutter and run east/west too much. The pistol has not turned out to be much.

there's no way of knowing that the wide receivers are the best players but u can't honestly say that the defense doesn't have the best players giving up one offensive touchdown against #4 north shore but based on how the offense is playing so far there's no way but to say that lewis is the best but if the receivers had a better quarterback throwing to them then they might have decent stats.

Lufkin doesn't run the same pistol Nevada does. In Nevada's pistol, the QB lines up 3 yards behind the center, and the RB lines up 7 yards back. In Lufkin's version, the QB lines up 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage (ala shotgun), and the RB lines up behind him. And even so, they only use it a few times a game, not as their main formation.

Trevon Lewis runs well enough from the gun, and the receivers are good. Lufkin's just had some trouble with turnovers as of late. If they can correct them, they'll be very good.
