Lonny gave me a great idea......lets poll to see about the posters on this website....who's the funniest, craziest, wittiest, most knowledgeable about football, biggest smartmouth, biggest homer, biggest crybaby--- etc.........i hope this turns out alright?? i'm bored--have nothing else to post about....someone always beats me to it!!...lets have it, guys............Bleedgreen says, come one, come all....bring it, baby!!....PS---this wasn't intended to start fights, either...although many of us have our differences, i consider all of us friends and true fans of Texas highschool, football...and yes, even the atheists--LOL.......................

The funniest is Pack0808 no dout I will have to meet him in person. I pumped TJT up alot and he finally told me he would leave me alone about weather I played for Lufkin or I really played for TJT so he tole me.

" PurpleNation I will leave you alone so you can go finish putting up you Poster of the John Tyler Football players"

Another poster I like alot has to be Dragons08 he saids so pretty funny stuff.
Lonny is up there to. But the most annoying posters have to be the handful of Euless Trinity Posters that proclaim everyone fall at there feet that ET already has the trophy(You know the ones I am talking about)

Me and Bleedgreen disagree quite a bit but its all fun and I wish Longview the best until they play Lufkin.

And Recently that one BerknerFan has been funny(10-5A Toughest District)

Thats about it

OK, I'll risk being thrown off and start this. :D

Wide is the most emotional, he wears it on his sleve, but I love my baby boy.
Dragon08 is a great kid, but needs to get MORE hobbies.....outside the house. :D ;) :D
Lonny is the most sincere poster, of the ones who post enough to be memorable.
Roughrider and Redskins88 are the most fun to trash talk with, for me anyway.

I'll just stop here for now and see where this goes before I do any more.

Thanks, I think Wide and me are pretty much equal in a lot of areas. I smart off a lot, but Wide has some good one-liners, too. I loved the line about some guy getting his windshield broken because Lidge is pitching in an open Minute Maid. That's the same line of thought I have. After the game they showed a crowd picture of a baby and I said, "That baby was just born when the game started." That's the kind of stuff Wide and me both say quite a bit. Wide is funny and sometimes I think what puts him over me in that department with people is he's more crude than I am. I just can't be as crude as him because I'm a Christian. Believe me, there's stuff I can say, but it's not pleasing to God.

Man, Wide is a smart dude when it comes to football. He may be smarter than me. He's strong in other sports like baseball, but it looks like I might have more depth in basketball, hockey, racing, soccer, etc. I could talk all day with him.

By nature, I think all the Hall of Famers have great football knowledge. Scooter is 11 years younger than me, but he's great about scouting teams, remembering stuff, and overall knowledge. Bleed and the rest of the Lufkin brigade like Pack0808 and favpack are good to talk to. Some of those SLC guys know a lot, too. They seem to be more edgy, though.

The guys that let us post here know a whole bunch about the game.

I love Dragons08 and Redskins since they're always here. Those guys are going to know a LOT about football if they keep posting here.

Bullrock doesn't come around much, but he knows a lot. I like all the SA guys because we generally get along.

Headliner has got to be the weirdest guy on the board. He's funny, but he's always coming up with stuff and phrases I'm not familiar with. He throws me off, but is fun to talk to!

I'm not going to say who the worst posters are, but there are 2 guys I've hinted around about in the past, but neither one of them have been that bad recently. Maybe, we don't have any horrible posters, anymore.

I like Lonny23 for being a Homer, honest about if his team sucks and he seems to have good high school football wit.
Dragon08 needs for his parents to buy him a couple of jigsaw puzzles.
Wideman is kinda emotional for a Dude. But I like his posts.
KT2000 is a knowledgeable young Dude and I enjoy watching games with him.
Most of the SLCers seem to have nothing to say about their own team. Or do I mean they have nothing to say except about SLC????????

From what I see on this ENTIRE web site is if you wear purple or green your stuff don't stink. That's Longview,SLC, and Lufkin. All you folks do is brag and talk about how good you are. Yaw are good probably have a great team we'll see. The folks at least most of them talking about Trinity are not even Trinity people. I haven't gone back through to check to see but out of towners must see something in Trinity to talk about us. I'm tired of the "useless" comment when referring to Euless too! These kids here in Euless will do their talking when the playoff start.

you know how threads like this always turn out.
That's why I didn't name names for worst posters. Feelings may get hurt because you're not somebody's favorite, but nobody will get mad until you really start slinging mud. I think we're doing good so far.

BTW, I left some people off the last time. These guys are alright in my books:

I need to talk about Mad Fan. He's a good guy for a Madison fan! I always enjoy talking to him.

RedRage00 is an all-time great. He likes to hang out when everybody else is gone.

I really like GoOwls4X56636499. He has real good knowledge, but he should for being old!

Redneckn is new here, but I like him. He really enjoys the game and is trying to get acclimated to better football in Texas! :p

I'm going to throw a bone to RGVBadBoy. He really knows South Texas football and represents the area well. I like reading about those teams from down there.

I have to mention eagleike, who has gone from wanting Judson one more time to wanting a win one more time! He's a good guy and my favorite from the Houston area.

Supercentex is a wealth of knowledge. He was huge here when I started posting.

I like Lone Star Proud up there in Southlake.

You have to respect wide's better half because she puts up with wide! :p

These last guys are close to my heart and I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for them (Now you know who to blame! ;) ). It's the Judson guys like bullrock, Diamond J, jrdaniel, jrock, mad hatter, eingedikid, and lonerocket. They've been followed by these others who I enjoy: bucky, bubbacoach (with a lot of knowledge), implacable44, rocketTRN, hdshrinker, diamondj2, texasred6X, sendero, dwistheman, and SFAfootball (or whatever he wants to be called at that time! :p )

That Texas Hammer guy is pretty cool, too! ;) He needs to be nice to Judson, though. Maybe that's why the Rockets were so bad this year.

I had more smilies, but had to take many out.

Hey, useless jokes are fun. I call Ft. Eustis, Ft. Useless! :D

The vast majority of the huge posters show more respect to the teams around the state. You have some people who branch out and follow the whole state, but you have a lot who only follow their team or a couple teams close by. I still say the Judson and most San Antonio posters are the best on the website as a group just because we show more respect to teams statewide than the other teams do.

Lonny,
You had more posts yesterday than I have on this board! I got caught up in the post race last year and was leading at one point. I think I had over 2K on one of the boards and about that much on the next one. It's a lot more fun to try and figure folks out than to call them out. It took a lot of years for me to realize this, but you learn more by listening than talking. I am amazed at how much knowledge (and time) some of these high schoolers have of the game. Especially the ones in the band. I try not to debate subjectivity because everyone is right and everyone is wrong. The way I see it, time will tell the truth. If it weren't for the Katy boys starting their own thread on the old Houston Chroncle website, none of us would be here. I've watched the evolution of football in Texas for more than thirty years. While most of them were spent behind red tinted glasses I've come to see there are other teams and fans who are just as good and fanatical about their team as I am. It's fun to see the nobody come out of the woodwork and spoil a great teams season in one game. My team has been on the wrong side of that scenario too many times. In any case, I don't think it serves this great football site any justice to rag on each other. We are all friends who wouldn't even give each other the time of day if were setting next to each other at an event. I will say this, I don't dislike anyone who posts on this board. I may not like their posts, but I can't say how I feel about the person posting because I don't know them.
The surprise team this year, in my opinion, will come out of the suburb of Euless in the greater metroplex. The matchup with Northshore or Westfield will be a great game to watch. Longview could have something to say about this, but my instinct tells me otherwise. The winner will earn his spot on the potium. There will be the other usual suspects, Katy, Lufkin, SLC, SV....but I think this is going to be the matchup of the year in Texas.

That's why they say we have 2 ears and 1 mouth. Why do we have 2 feet, though?

You're right about good teams around the state. That Clear Lake team that beat Katy was a good team and flew under the radar all year. Man, I'd love to sit around and talk to some of the guys on the board. The one common denominator on this board is that all the posters are some of the most vocal supporters of their team and everybody wants fans like that.

I think Lonnie has some of the most interesting insite, who has gotten better now that Judson is a littel down this year ;)

Some of my fellow Dragon Nation posters have gotten a litte more vocal in their defense against upstarts and newbies that have shown up this year.

I perfer the veterns, like KT2000, Coppell Cowboy, scooter, bleedgreen, dragondaddy, etc (this is starting to sound like an acceptance speech at the acadamey awards!) (They like me they really do.....!)

Wow!

Much Love Lonny...I appreciate your kind words. And I too admire you as an incredible sports fan...not just football.

Lonny- The "Cal Ripken" award....dude just keeps on truckin'...no matter rain, sleet, snow or dark of night (no offense GoOwls) he is L2K and the rest of us are just living in his world.

High School Football knowledge-that's a tough one. If you go East Texas I gotta give it up to Pack0808. This cat knows what Eric Curl had for breakfast the day of the Dallas Carter game in 1988. And from personal experience I
know he is an virtual guru of MLB and the NFL.

KT2000,ktchamp97, are the Gods of overall high school knowledge. These two know their stuff.

Farmerfan wins the MLB catagory. I could talk baseball with him for hours...he knows the history of the game and I enjoy our conversations.

GoOwls-Most genuine guy I've ever come across on a message board and an all-around good friend to have.

The Duke - wins the "Real guy" award...to me he is just a real fan...with gripes and complaints...that blasts his teams when they are awful...but still loves them and supports them every week. I love fans like Duke...we are a lot alike.

dada4W and LPFAn- The "2 legit 2 quit" award...these two guys are hilarious...pop culture questions anyone? From cartoons to what song was on the radio on whatever date in 1991...they can tell you. I love going back and forth with both of these guys. dada has made me laugh out loud too many times to count.

TexasFrog- The Marvin Zindler award...better have your facts straight...or Frog here will call you out. Lots of football knowledge and not afraid of a good debate...in fact he loves a good debate.

ddaddy- The Alex Trabek/Scrabble champion award...probably one of the smartest cats on this board. Need an obscure trivia question answered?
Or a $20 word...ddaddy can hook you up.

Bleedgreen- The "Don't stop believin'" award...dude takes huge amounts of smack talk about his beloved Lobos...and keeps coming back for more.
A true fan...no doubt about it.

jtk, mtbray, Hookem, and bowiedawgs- The "Texas fight" award...say anything remotely negative about the Horns...and these guys come swooping down equipped with capes and fire power. I could listen to these guys talk Texas football all day.

scooter- where the hell are you dude?

Dragons08,Redskins88,CC57,Lufkinclass08,southlake thug, and many, many more receive the "Young Guns" award....I admire all of these guys for wanting to learn more about football and sports in general. Keep hangin' out with us and by the time you are our age....you will be able to talk smack too....ahahaha

supercentex and redneckn- really enjoy talking to these guys. Redneckn is crazy as hell...and turns out I may have known centex for 20+ years and not even realized it...ahahaha

All the other hall of famers...I'll see you guys soon I hope. I enjoy talking to all you guys and you are what makes this board special. Haze gray and underway drgbkr...

Pack98- give 'em hell shipmate.

I don't know if Dragonsdaddy has me beat for brains or not. I went back to look at his posts to see and I don't remember anything in the past that stood out, but he does have intelligence. I looked since 2 of you said it. I don't remember very many, if any topics, anywhere on this forum that I couldn't speak intelligently about since I came here. Almost everything I say on this forum is instantaneous thoughts, memory, and jokes. My jokes are permeated with things I've learned in the past and I wonder how many things I say that people don't catch. I did the soccer firing threads just to see if I would have something to say about all those countries.

As far as Jeopardy goes, that's the hardest show on TV to get on. I tried out in Korea one time and made it past the first round with about 50 other people, but wasn't one of the 3 who got to Round 3. They start you off with a 10 question test and if you do good enough you get 50 questions on 50 topics and have to get 35 right. After that, they do mock shows and see how people look before the camera.

They start you off with a 10 question test and if you do good enough you get 50 questions on 50 topics and have to get 35 right. After that, they do mock shows and see how people look before the camera.

lol lonny. come by the office and we'll see about putting that dislocated shoulder back in the socket. doesn't it hurt when you pound yourself on the back so often and with such reckless abandon?

Yeah on the weekends after a game is usually my time. Sometimes i crash but sometimes i cannot resist. I usually regret it in the am when the kids are pouncing on my head at 8 am. ;) Talking a little football late is a lot better then what i used to do during late night's in my young and wild year's. I am sure i will be yapping away after Friday's game. The history part comes from my late father, our special time together always involved sports, rather it be playing catch, or him throwing whiffle balls at me or even going out to the drive way to shoot hoops, we always had a special bond playing sports and watching sports, he took me to my first playoff game in 87, and we loved it. The following year, we followed Paris High in their memorable state championship season catching games against Denison, Cleburne and West Orange Stark. I guess I was blessed in being born when I was, considering Lewisville started to re-emerge on the state scene in 1991, I remember them beating a undefeated Hurst LD Bell team in the 1st roudn that year as the game was on a thursday night and I was able to attend, against my mom's wishes. The following week they played against a Mike Adams led Sam Houston Texans, I remember getting sick at school that day and coming home and not saying anything to my mom, my fall baseball team had a tournament in Arlington and I wanted to play badly, well on the way to the game, we had to make a few stops, I did not play in the game, but my Dad let me stay out in the car covered up in blankets with the heater going as I listened to Lewisville get beat. I was in 5th grade in 92 and we went to all three of Lewisville's playoff games that year, we followed up by attending all 6 in 93, and never missed one since, the last season I got to enjoy the playoffs with him was in 96, which was our memorable run to a state title, on our way home from Waco he told me I would never see a team like that again out of Lewisville High school, and looking back he was right. When he passed away, our closest family friend's made sure that I would continue to go to HS football games and it is with them that you can usually find me at a game with.
The only thing I love as much as MLB and the Boston Red Sox is Texas HS Football, the only thing I love more than the Red Sox and MLB is the Texas HS football playoffs, I have been lucky in that I have seen many games all over the state and it is something I look forward to do with my son or daughter one day.

We shoud've beaten that 1988 Paris team coached by Allen Wilson. I was so happy when Mt. Pleasant went to Paris the next year and won the district title on their field. That was our year, but Tyler Chapel Hill had a killer defense and beat us in the quarterfinals. The highlight of 1989 was beating Henderson in Regionals. They looked just like Daingerfield and had Dennis Alexander as their coach. Boy, I hated Daingerfield!

I don't have the memory that a lot of you have. I read this stuff and it all runs together. There are so many posters from the Dragon Nation that I don't try to distinguish one from the other unless I look at their post counts. The East Texas boys (between coon huntin', bar hoppin, lady chasin, football goin,) are some of the most loyal to their teams. The Katy boys have been awful quiet this year. Kinda scary 'cause you know they're going to show up later in the season. Northshore, been quiet there too. Westfield only comes around during the playoffs, and the Woods people. Where has Old Duke been? Us Judson folks are in denial. The inevitable is coming and we miss our football team. Who knows what next year will bring. Stay tuned.............

I coached at Dallas TJ that year and we played Paris in Paris and had them beat and let the weather and the field and destiny come back to beat us. Even with all that went wrong, we dropped a pass in the endzone as time ran out! We had a special team but they had the "silver crush" jerseys. This was the best and worst high school football game I've ever seen and I had the privilege of being on the sideline for that one.

Just head 20 minutes away to Nac and they have plenty of clubs and bar's with SFA being there. Lufkin has a several but they are not the best by far. I used to love to go to richmond ave in Houston. To answer bull's question!! that describes me at different times in my life besides the coon hunting. LOL I am way past the club hopping and chasing women stage considering i am married with 4 little kids. I definitely fit the football going part no doubt!! I feel much better in the morning now that i just do the football part. ;)

Club hopping is over-rated. Beer is over-priced...you run the risk of getting into a fight, being pulled over if you're stupid enough to drive...any number of things could happen. Much safer and cheaper to stay at home.
And to the young guys...there is absolutely no future in picking up skanks at bars or clubs...don't do it. I know you will anyway...but at least I tried to warn you.

Like we were any better!! We were at the bar picking up women so what does that make us?? Besides, it depends on when you are talking about. In college all the girl's go including the classy one's. It is funny about the stereotypes Texas has over bar's compared to when i lived up North for a while in Iowa. It is completely different. You could see your doctor, lawyer, teacher, affluent business men etc etc at the Northern bar's and it would be no big deal at all. It is just more accepted up there then here. Maybe because we live in the Bible belt i am not sure?? If you are a professional around here and go to a bar you would be in big trouble and you would lose business or get fired because of the stereotype's attatched to it. In the north it is not a big deal at all. It is more like a Cheer's type of setting up there and it is a much more relaxed scene.

I wasn't referring to all the girls in the bar or club. I was just referring to Wide's use of the word skank. Back then if we thought a girl was a skank we used those other words I mentioned. Had nothing to do with them just being a clubber or bar hopper.

You're right Pack...there is a huge sterotype attached to it in the Bible belt.
But of course most of the bars in Lufkin are dives...so I can somewhat see the negative image it gives off.

But like you...I have never seen or heard people anywhere else in this country make such a big deal out of having a drink at a bar. It's been passed down from generation to generation in Lufkin.

BTW...I bet I could go into any bar in Lufkin...and see the same people that were there the last time I was there years ago.

I don't drink, but I'd drink at home if I did. You have a better time sitting around with friends, anyway. I had a friend in Korea named Lonnie and he'd drink about 20 beers/day on weekends and we'd just goof off all day. I made sure he got back from the small hole in the wall club, too. Yeah, I'd always try to keep Lonnie and my boss out of fights when they'd drink.

Young guys, you want good women. Wide is right about the quality of women at the clubs. It's just like my cousin that always wants to find cowboys in the bars. She's going to keep having bad relationships.

got to say that the Katy and SA fans are among the most loyal---even though Judson is a sinking ship, they still pull for their boys.......i admire the garland fans as well....stick to their team like glue, really no blatent trash talking, either....really respectful and know their football...Owlfan1 is one of the classiest guys that i have talked to on this board....garland 4X4 knows his stuff, also....the SLC guys---true fans that stick by their team...have a few "braggarts" that run their heads constantly, but they have reason to because of their accomplishments--not many teams(if any) can boast SLC's numbers...plus, every team has the fans that run their mouths(and will be eating crow at the end of the season)..unfortunately, Longview has that problem as you have witnessed over the past few weeks on this board....one guy that i failed to mention is Farmerfan.....first time that i was on this site, Farmerfan and i went at it for over 2 weeks that i can remember....but since then, he has become a good friend on this site and eventually farmerfan, we will have to hook up for that drink(or drinks) at Hooters....this guy knows his football, and sticks to his guns when it comes to Lewisville, even through the down seasons..but, lewisville will pull out of it really soon--all good programs do.......newcomers?? i like dragon08 and draronfan, as well as redneckin(even though he is an ECA fan )..really passionate and fiery when it comes to their football teams...many other newcomers on this site that i can't think of right off hand, give me some time...i'm too busy with coon hunting, bar-hopping, and skank chasing to name them right now--LOL..........i vote that i get the "best topic" or "best thread' award of the season--LOL.......bleedgreen must take a nap now--been a long week at the hospital...why have i been speaking in 3rd person lately???

thanks bleed, I vididly remember those exchanges, two stubborn fans, who refused to give a inch, arguing over Lewisville and Longview, when it comes to overall success they are about the same, finally came into agreement about the Lewisville Hooters :D , however a new one has opened in Denton and it makes Lewisville look like mickey mouse and the clubhouse 9. Actually, I've thrown you a few bones. I don't talk bad about the team, but I did like the Sawyer Brown joke in the firing thread! It was weird when I was coming back from a Mavs playoff victory this year and the Taco Bueno was right by the water tower and I saw 1993 and 1996. It's one of those moments when you say, "These guys beat Judson."

I really don't know on Marshall. If you look at the History of Judson website, it says the last name of the team Judson played. They have numerous Marshall games, but I don't know which one's are for the ET version and which one's are for SA Marshall. I DO know 1990 was ET in the title game!

the Sawyer Brown line was funny, i even laughed at that, maybe because it was true. The water tower is the main feature of our city, dont know if that is a good thing or a bad thing, one thing is for sure, anyone who drives through the city of Lewisville knows who the 1993 and 1996 state champs were.
The Lewisville Taco Bueno is awesome, we have two in Denton, but in my mind they are not as good as the Lewisville one, maybe because I grew up going to the Lewisville bueno and not the denton one. Always been a big fan of Taco Bueno, hate taco bell, and got kicked out of Taco C in denton for getting in a fight with the manager one night.

I thought there was going to be a fight in Whataburger in Wichita Falls 6 days before I left town. Me and my dad were eating and this drunk guy comes stumbling in cussing and asking who burned his chicken sandwich to a crisp. The guy behind the counter asked if the customer had a problem and he said he would take it outside. The manager tried to defuse the situation and they said they were going to throw him out if he didn't act better. He came over to our table and the one next to it saying he's going to take everybody's names down. I thought it was great! :D

The situation at Taco C, was me and some friends had just left the Rockin Rodeo, wedsnesday nights are college night there, and when we left the club we walked over to Taco C, well we ordered our food, sat on the patio, accross from the patio some guy had been pulled over for drunk driving, well most of the employees had come outside to watch this guy get arrested, I took offence to it and asked the employees if they thought it was funny to see a guy get arrested. One of the employees told me to mind my own business, well we started going back and forth and I got in his face and told him to get back to work, well the manager came out and told me i had no right to talk to his employees that way and if I had a problem I could leave. I told him he was a piss poor manager and then it started to escalade from there, he told me I was no longer welcome in his resturant again, and I have not been back since, i wrote the coporate office, but never heard back from them.

I only watched the first round from a distance. The TV was about 50 feet from where I was working and standing. I didn't watch the 2nd round after I missed a question. It was for kids around 12-14. I only wanted to see if I could get every question right.
so you made an excuse for not getting every question right?? :p

ehhhhh not quite....i only have one "offical" gpa thing and that was a 94 last year of the first semester, since then my grades have gone up, so my guess, is my gpa is like 95-96 range, not enough to put me into the top 10, top 10 you need like 99-100 range to even be close considered top 10 legit

There is only ONE person on my ignore list (banned folks are off the ignore list) but I am not going to say who it is. I have no problem with most of the people on this board, but this one person just got on my bad side. I figured I would stay out of trouble by ignoring him instead of mouthing off to him.

wieght gainers are mainly starch and sugar...eat red meat, corn bread, peanut butter, beans, bananas, milk...you don't really want to eat white meats, even though they're good for (much better than red meat)....but red meat is heavy and has more protein!

as far as lifting is concerned, take that 400lbs on leg press and minus your body weight, so you weigh 147 - 400 = 253...so you're actually pushing/or squating 253 pounds with your legs! Add more weight!

there are so many tricks! also supplements are good...for adding mass, creatine is good.
