Ok so as I said on the Main Statewide. I just moved to Georgia. My new school runs the Wing-T Offense and a 3-5 Defense. Is it time for my coach to go to the spread? But hey since Im a nosetackle i love the defense!:D

Not Necesarily. If the talent pool at the school produces more RB's and not so many WR's Then it is the smart choice to stay with the Wing-T. I have seen a few schools that tried to run the spread, but they really weren't making it happen on the field. The sad thing is that they had at least three good RB's and may have been able to make a option work well.

As far as defenses are concerned they should adapt based on what offenses they see weekly. A 3-5 can have a lot of different looks.

Yea I see what your saying. Really from what I have learned we really only had 1 reciever who was "good" this year. I forgot the name, he is 6'4 and got a scholarship to Florida State. As for Running Backs....Ill let you know :)

Really probably the best thing to do at the high school level is to run a i formation or a split backs formation. Something that can be easily transformed into many different looks, spread, option, power run. This would give you an opportunity to see what type of atheletes you have and make minor adjustments to highlight strengths and minimize weaknesses.

This way if you new the Freshmen team didn't have much in the way of running backs, but had a couple of good potential WR's you could run more spread look in 2 or 3 seasons, or if it was running back more power run option. really you could run 1 offense with 3 playbooks. Spread, Option, and power Run, and use the same numbering system and nameing system. This would allow for running plays from any one or combination of 2 or 3 playbooks depending on strength, or possible a weakness in the opposing teams defense.
