Is anyone REALLY surprised this happened? The possibility of having any thread containing posts concerning A & M and Texas evolving without unnecessary name calling and mud slinging was basically zero. You can give each other a hard time without trying to make it personal or over react to the max. I enjoy this forum and it will be even better now that the crackdown is in place.

Just more of the same Texas v Aggies smack talk. I think it got to a point where KT was just fed up with it. Although I am sorry to see them both gone, the admins have been incredibly patient with all of us. While I am not an advocate of bannings or censorship, I fully understand their point of view and their desire to keep the board from going to the crapper.

I hope sometime in the future that the KTs would reconsider their decision.

i am glad i saw this. i tend to have opinion battles. but , i just like to have fun on here. nothin personal. i use to go on yahoo and chAT AND GOT INTO arguments but it was fun and very laughable.(voice chat). i guess on here you really have to watch what exactly you say or let it be known that you are really not angry or have a blown top. i am a a&m fan. but, not die hard yet as i am with the 49ers and tyler lee. sometimes people can get carried away in that stuff. i am a die hard san fransico 49ers fan and tyler lee fan. i like to argue and have their backs but i'll try to remember how far i can go.

I will miss the guys that got banned because you cannot deny that they were passionate fans, albeit over the edge at times. For some sick reason I "get" Wide, and haven't had an issue with the others involved.

I recognize the fact that we are guests here, and I think it is sometimes forgotten how different/ much better this board is because the KTs maintain a certain level of civility in a place where we pretty much throw up the most controversial of topics at any time. Their hobby has to be pretty much like herding cats- you know cats do their own thing, regardless of what people are telling them to do.

I hate that they were banned too pack but the warnings had been going on for months. i understand how hard it can be to not say anything about a hated rival but it was the posts leading up to that one thread that got them the boot. the warnings had been their for a good while and KT just got fed up with it. I wish it wasnt that way but until I have my own board I cant argue with him for doing what he does. God knows Ive been lucky to stay around with as many drunken stupid posts I've made

Wide and Co. were warned and I thought it would have happened sooner. I was wondering when el Presidente was going to get booted. It seems he was trying to be the poster boy for banishment. KT has more patience than me. Those guys would last forever if they can keep the name calling, cursing and other personal attacks out of their posts. Wide has some really good post as far as sports is concerned. Those posts with that knowledge will be missed in this forum. The childishness won't be missed at all.

My oldest son is working on his Eagle Scout project now and my youngest (who is 12) is working to finish up Second and First Class Scout. I did the committee stuff until the oldest made Life Scout, then I started camping and morphed into an Asst SM. I love it. Taking these boys out into the woods and watching them grow and mature is special. Seeing them adapt to days without electronics of any sort is truly amusing. Probably more than you wanted to know, but I am proud of our work in BSA.

I send them all my encouragements. Of all the things I ever do, getting Eagle Scout is one I will always be most proud of. Plus I have heard way too many stories of "I got to Star/Life and quit and now I really regret it." Getting past that final step is difficult, but definitely worth it! :)

Guys, and KT will correct me if I am wrong. It is the abuse of the language filter that got them. Not the "******" you see from time to time. The filter catches the "bad" words and converts them to "****" if that is all that was there, I doubt the bans would be permanent. It is when you type the first letter of a word and then a bunch of symbols, or first letter and then an apostrophe followed by the last two letters, etc., and everyone can plainly see the word that got them in such trouble.

If however, your posts are constantly filled with "**********" then you might want to start choosing alternative words.

Also, KT appreciates getting pm's on words you find slipping through the filter due to weird spelling or strange use. Then they can be added.
