There is a gunman @ the Johnson space center here in Houston. As of right now they're evacuating ppl and SWAT is on site. That's all the info for now. I'm sure there will be updates later.

They just said it's in Building 44, if anybody familiar with the center knows what building that is, it looks like an office building. Hopefully they've been able to evacuate the building. They're showing a large group of workers from the building being guarded by police outside.

I am glad to hear that.

The news said that the gunman walked in a meeting room, pointed the gun at a person and told the others to leave. Several shots were heard.

This must be an act of revenge. It's really scary b/c not only is it a few dayz after the VTech Massacre (sp?) but it's also on the day of the 8th anniversary of the Columbine shooting.

Please tell me the gunman was shot in the foot, and bled to death... slowly.

Shot himself in the head according to NBC Houston. No details about the relationship between victim and shooter yet. One other hostage but she was unharmed. Seems like he singled out this one guy.

He was a consultant there. He had worked @ NASA for 10 yrs., got a bad report and was in danger of a pink slip.

Come on, Dada. You know better than that. If we didn't have all these 24 hr news networks and the internet, it wouldn't seem nearly as bad. In fact, I heard on one of those networks the other day that school and workplace violence is on the decline in the last 20 years or so. It just seems worse because we hear about it 24-7, 365.

so, he had a "chance" of getting fired....so he decides to kill someone and be fired AND go to jail?
