i disagree with this guy. The West is more competitive than it has been the last few years and the East is very competitve. I think this year there will be alot of very good matchups.

It's hit or miss:
Pistons-Magic, who cares?
Cavs-Wizards, The Cavs irritate me, but it would've been cool if Arenas played.
Raptors-Nets, I guess it isn't horrible, but I'm not juiced.
Heat-Bulls, and I like this one.
Mavs-Warriors, you know I love this one.
Suns-Lakers, and it might have some interest.
Spurs-Nuggets, and I'll watch.
Jazz-Rockets, and it's a good matchup.
The 2nd Round will be real good. The playoffs have always been this way where you get good matchups later on. The problem is these morons don't know how to like series that don't have glamour players and teams. They don't like the idea of the Texas Triangle and Phoenix in Round 2, but I love the idea. These idiots think the Bulls, Lakers, and Knicks have to be good to have a good playoff season. I'm perfectly happy with the Mavs beating everybody's brains into submission.

My desire to watch NBA games...even playoff games is all but gone.
I guess I've outgrown the whole hanging from the rim and being a ball-hog thing. To tell you the truth they could end the league tomorrow and it wouldn't bother me a bit.
I was a HUGE NBA fan back in the day...Bird,Magic,Jordan era. The crap they call a league now is laughable.

The silver lining is that the best teams play team ball and eventually some of the losers will figure out that they need to play team ball to succeed. By no means am I saying the NBA is great because many games are crap, but I will say that some games are a thing of beauty. Texas has 3 of the 6 best teams to watch in the NBA. I also suspect that you'll be more interested when the Celtics get better.

Go ROCKETS!!!!!!
Actually, I'm not a fan of basketball. I'm very 'fair weather' when it comes to the Rockets but someone at work told me they look good.

Playing best of 7 the whole way is stupid - and a bore - sorry, it just is. Not to mention the whacky days off - making a series last two weeks in some cases. Would baseball do that? Of course not - basketball is a second tier sport.

Best of 7 is fine when you have a good matchup or teams that are fun. Yes, Stern has made the playoffs go too long. I like hockey where you play every other day. As much as people gripe, Stern still has the First Round playing out over 3 weekends.
This is what it should be:
Game 1 Sat
Game 2 Mon
Game 3 Wed
Game 4 Fri
Game 5 Sun
Game 6 Tue
Game 7 Thur
At one time, the NBA had teams play some Sat/Sun for Games 3 and 4.
What Stern does is something like this:
Game 1 Sun
Game 2 Wed
Game 3 Fri
Game 4 Sun
Game 5 Wed
Game 6 Fri
Game 7 Sun
It takes that long because the NBA shows every game and games never compete with one another like the NFL does. They play 4 games on the weekend and 2 games during the week. The later rounds are more fun because you have less days off and play more often.
