All right Waco guys,

I know that you guys had some weather last week, and that some more might be in store.

Having said all of that, I heard that the Brazos was WAY up recently, so much so, that your beloved River boat partially sunk.

Any truth to any of this? We have some races on your beloved river at the end of the month, and was just curious

Yes it's very true. The Brazos Queen or whatever it's called is pretty much completely destroyed.
We go to those races all the time man. PM me some info...
My Dad just asked me the other day when the boat races were gonna happen...

Thank God it sunk. There was nothing cool about that boat at all.

I like it when the Brazos is low though, then you can see around 10 cars in the middle of the river!

SO, is the park, west of 35, under water? The place where the cliffs are, I mean? Where the kid fell and died a few years ago.

Yep,

His name is Roger, and he NEVER shuts up! Sometimes, that is a good thing, when you are in the pits, waiting for your class to be called. Other times, you want to choke him! I couldn't stand him at first, but tolerance has been built up, and away from the microphone he is actually pretty cool to hang out with. Don't get into a pool game with him!

His announcing day ALWAYS ends with "And now, for the best sound you will hear all day long........... (He cracks open a beer on the open mike)

That's the sound of my first cold beer of the day...................."

I suspect that we can thank 9-11 for that.

Or not.

As participants, we aren't allowed to touch the stuff till AFTER the last race of the day. However, a lot of guys touch the stuff plenty, after that!

Sent you another PM

Just my opinion...which is a fact.

From the "Nail meets hammer" thread...........

Factually, your opinion.

Or something like that.

Yep, $4 for a barley pop is stupid. I think last year, they started the old "ticket booth" crap, where you buy stuff with coupons. Jeez.

The first Waco event, we are usually rained on for half the time, then a cold front blows in and freezes you. By the second Waco event (used to be in July, now moved to September), it's just freakin hot!

I think the one we went to last year was in July..???
Yeah..you had to buy tickets and then buy beer or whatever. Pretty freaking dumb if you ask me.

The claim was, they were doing the whole ticket deal, to better determine which types of prodcuts could be sold, in what quantities. Waco events for our sanctioning body are pretty small, but some of the bigger events (Oklahoma City for example) make LOTS of money on these deals. Some way to track the $$. Force the vendor to show what he/she actually made. Some of the older school vendors said "Thanks, but no Thanks. Guess they were making GOOOD money, and didn't want anybody to know just how good!
