Per ESPiN News, BCG will be named Kentucky's new coach as early as tomorrow. If true, it sucks to lose a Texas guy, but best of luck to him.
BTW, jtk did not know that BCG was born in Abilene.

Just caught that too...yeah, it sucks bad, no doubt. I can't say I'm thrilled about it, but at least BCG leaves us in a better shape than we were when he arrived.
Best of luck to the guy at UK, unless he plays one of my teams.

I guess he figured since the best player in the Big XII was graduating (Acie Law of course) then there was really no need for him to stay.
Damn shame...they were well on their way to becoming the Duke or UCLA of East Texas.

I'm not gonna wish him luck. If he ends up leaving, I hope it all backfires on his egotistical a$$. Why would I want Kentucky to do well? I don't give 2 craps if their fans remain angry and frustrated.
However, if he stays, then I ranted and raved for no reason. And he becomes the best basketball coach and overall good guy once again :D

Here's something interesting I thought of earlier tonight.
Hal Mumme - former Kentucky football coach, currently coaching New Mexico State was the head football coach at Copperas Cove High School from 1986-1988.
Billy Gillispie - potentially the next Kentucky basketball coach, was the head basketball coach at Copperas Cove High School in 1987, his first head coaching job.
I just thought it was kinda funny, if the reports of Gillispie leaving for Kentucky are true, that both coach in Copperas Cove at the same time and both ended up as head coaches at Kentucky.
So come on down to Copperas Cove High School if you'd like to be a future University of Kentucky coach!

I'm not going to think of Gillespie as the douchebag that Todd Graham is, even though there are parallels here.
Hard to blame a guy for uptiering to one of the three best college coaching jobs in the country. From a school that will ALWAYS be a football school to one that will ALWAYS be a basketball school.
Plus I think he will handle it with much more class than Graham did.
Aggies should be disappointed but not shocked that BG would make this decision.

This from the fanbase that brought us "Radio" and "Cart McCoy".
I think a$m is a fine University. The probelm comes, in my opinion, because many fans of the school truly believe that everything about the school is great and deserves to be higher thought of than it is and get uber pissed when shown simple facts to the contrary.

In order for their to be a demise, their had to be a beginning. Sure you had a couple of Great season.. Congratulations on that. But the Program never got a chance to start.... Back to square one.

Dang, and all this time I thought trailer parks were the cut downs of Okies.
I mean, them being the real rivals and all.
You know UT has(or at least had) a trailer park as part of student housing. I had a friend whose brother lived there. It was way down south, and I was only there one night after several drinks.

ANYONE who dosent wear Maroon colored glasses KNEW Gillespie would leave....that's the business. That's like Bobby Bowden(just an example...a YOUNG Bobby Bowden)taking the head job at.........Duke....a basketball school....takes the football team to a bowl....they beat North Carolina in Football and Basketball the same year and every one says "DUKE Is a FOOTBALL school"....then the job at Michigan opens up. "There is no way Bobby would leave Duke...Why would he leave Duke to go to a football school like Michigan...Duke Football is on the rise"......see my point?

The reality is that when coach and administration agree on a very large contract extension and almost a week later it still remains unsigned, that's a pretty big red flag. Unfortunately, more salt will be introduced to the wound since the Aggies top recruit, #1 recruit in Texas DeAndre Jordan, has said publicly that if BCG were to leave, he would change his commitment and probably follow the coach. It's unfortunate, but every now and then we are reminded that this is still a business.
