Hmmmm, here's the logical reply:

"Good luck dude - you can let go of the bird and come back down the way you went up, stay there a few days until you're hungry, or jump. Later."

Just when you think you've seen it all. And they say roofers are stupid.

If you've ever spent any extended time at Wal-Mart observing people - for a bake sale, car wash, raffle, etc. - you wonder why things like this don't happen more often. A significant percentage of Americans lack a functioning brain.

His cousin (probably also his wife) seemed really proud of his ability to climb up the tree. Well, that was half of the equation now wasn't it.

I've not been to Wal-Mart in eight year...for just that reason...

Hmmmm.....

In most municipalities nowadays if you get your car stuck in a low water crossing in a blinding rainstorm, you get a bill for the rescue. Even if you were unaware of the low water point and could not see well enough to avoid it, right?

BUT....You climb a freakin' tree to get a bird that would eventually fly down on its own (if he likes you that is) ON PURPOSE, and you don't get billed?????

I smell PETA members in the local governments here. :D They just failed to notice that the "animal" in trouble here was a human. Must have thought it was a dodo.

i don't watch network news for the same reason.

politics doesn't depress me.

the general lack of good sense does.

Shir Min was elated the bird was safe and sound. Sniff, sniff -- another happy ending.
