I'm in band(DUH!) and we have been preparing for this week since November.
Tomorrow we preform out UIL concert show at Judson.
The next day(Thursday) we leave for NYC. On Saturday we are preforming the same show in Carnegie hall.
we are playing 2 VERY risky challenging pieces. one is Toccata and fudge in D minor. you might recognise it. here is a thing on you tube with it, I think it is interesting to watch.

WE are also playing festive overture which is REALLY hard.

That would be Toccata and Fugue Bandchic.
I've played both arrangements.
You will do fine. Prayers for your safe trip. :)

Oh dip. What time would ya'll leave then? If it's anywhere around 345 get ready to wait in traffic cuz no one in that area can drive, especially the bus drivers.

Have a great experience and trip!! NYC is a blast and you all will have so much fun. Carnegie, from all accounts, is unbelievable to perform in. I have never been there - I just do the Broadway stuff - but I do know some kids who have done what you all will be doing and they said it was awesome.
I was going to correct the Fudge/Fugue thing but Fudge sounded better:) . It is a very impressive piece of music.

Have fun and be safe. My daughter played there and it is an amazing performance hall. She has T.M.J. and plays the French Horn. Her jaw popped out of place and when she reset it between pieces, the recording picked it up clearly. That is how great the acoustics are in that place. Enjoy your experience.

I performed in Carnegie Hall my sophomore year of high school. It is one of the greatest experiences of my life. Be sure to listen for the "1-billion dollar ring". It sure is a lovely sound to hear.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
