Has the upcoming senior class at Carroll ever lost a game? When is the last time a JV or freshman team lost a game? I stated in another post that strength and consistency at the sub-varsity levels, and time management until the season starts, will be two of the overwhelming strengths for Carroll in their game against MNW. It will really be a strength in replacing nine starters on Defense. Carroll fans please advise.

One of the sub-varsity teams lost to Trinity last year. They should be meating with some on the varsity in the future.

crunked that 02 team wasnt any good, they couldnt hang with this passed season. the linebackers woulda been way to much for those scrawny inside recievers.:D but back to the original question. riley and tre' were brought up as freshman and played on the jv, so dont let their freshman record tell you anything. they will be as dominating a class that carroll has ever had. just as good as the rest.

"meating"? That sounds somewhat disconcerting.
I didn't get to see that game, but understand it was a very good performance with serious varsity level type of hitting going on all game.

The JV game where Trinity beat SLC was neck and neck until the SLC QB got hurt. Trinity also had a pick for a TD and stole the kick off (literally) and scored off the play. Trinity JV outplayed and outhit the SLC JV, however, SLC made a comeback on Trinity (sound familiar) but Trinity held them off for the victory. Should be interesting if these 2 power houses meet again.

I wasn't at the game, but I did hear another version of the game. Here's the quote from another message board.
Can't get enough trojan football so tonight I went to southlake to check out one of the JV teams, got there just as it started. There was one set of bleachers on the visitors side and it was packed, probably had more trinity fans than dragons who had 2 sets of bleachers. By the end of the game it was easy to determine who had the most fans remaining. Trinity started out slow and SLC took advantage they were very agressive, not much weight but very tall, I guess that hides some weight.
They used two QB's, one is very tall, poised, great arm and in the system, probably heir apparent to dogde. They scored first but never attempted a kick all night, always went for 2 on the PAT. On the next SLC series Trinity returned a fumble for a TD and took the lead 7-6.
About that time the defense fired up and started laying some devastating hits on SLC. The guys around me were wondering if the SLC JV has ever been hit like that. I counted at least 3 times SLC helmets were rolling around after the plays. Warrior hits - most of them were.
Both teams rotated QB's and many other players as you could see the difference in skill levels. I think the main reason for the game is to get experience and assess players although winning is always a goal, but after the close score at half I think a lot a pride took over on both staffs and winning became a major goal. The "better" players seemed to be on the field more than the others.
Trinitys special teams were awesome and scored ( you can figure out how - as The Permian boys don't need to know ) suckered them several times. That effected SLC and fired up our guys. Down by 16 points SLC couldn't make it up. Trinity actually fumbled on the goal line with less than 3 minutes left or it would have been a 23 or 24 point win.
One of the greatest plays of the night was after the Trinity fumble at the goal, SLC was steadily moving down the field with their great passing game, their completion % seemed like 85% all night . It was 2nd and 4, the QB thru a perfect pass to the WR, about 1/10 of a second after the ball touched his hands a trinity DB smacked the living "H" out of him and the ball fell incomplete. We commented that the WR may hear foot steps for years. Sure enough on 4th and 4 the same WR was wide open the QB lobbed the ball to him and he dropped it. Trinity then ran out the clock.
SLC's QB was awesome , they are very elusive and hard to tackle, but Trinity has a great QB & RB and an endless supply of hawgs and hard hitting swarming defenders. There were a lot of penalties but they overcame them. And to think this is only one of the JV teams. Score 36-20

I think it was at this game that the SLC coach had poor clock management and let the clock run out in the first half with the ball inside Trinity's 10 yard line.
I may be wrong but I think that is what happened. Trinity did come to play and put some hits on SLC for sure. I remember one huge kid (Tongan I believe) with a big head of hair.
It was a fun game to watch as the first game between these two powerhouses. It wasn't varsity but lots of excitement anyway.
I was disappointed that the other SLC JV team did not get to play Trinity but played one of the Grand Prairie schools for some reason.
Do the JV teams play again this year?
