After watching the video of their 05 team their coach is going to have a heart attack in the dressing room at half time after SLC gets 20+ points up by the half. What I like about this game is the guts of the coaches and administrators on both sides willing to put it on the line. Truth is, does MNW really have the horses to match SLC? I don't know enough about MNW to really say but I do know SLC is loaded with returning talent and should win it all again.

Let me say somthing on behalf of the ACTUAL PLAYERS so you guys feel better...don't listen to our fans...they're fans. Our players love support from everybody...for example last year in the playoffs, all of us were supporting Colleyville on their run and Im sure they, along with the rest of 5-5A were behind us so that we represented our area well... we want other teams to do well so that when we play they give it their all and we have ourselves a ball game... I would like to thank everybody for their support from throughout last season because I know we got it from the metro when we were playing westlake and especially from LD Bell against Trinity--- like I said...don't worry about our fans, they are just the fire behind the dragon...(undevided support) Im sure Riley and Tre and the whole dragon team is working on somthin special for the ol' bulls to represent Texas well

Assuming that you were part of last year's championship team, I would like to pass on my congratulations to you and your entire program, not just for winning state, but also the way you guys conducted yourselves on the field. I was watching the pre-game greeting and saw the way the representatives of both teams interacted with each other, of course, made even more special by the participation of Matt Nader. Always fun to see winning streaks get broken. And all that other crap. I'm not a Carroll hater though. Not by any stretch of the imagination. I have nothing but admiration for the program and the community support that fuels it.

I go to GHS and personally do not care for the Dragons at all, but i will be rooting for them in their game agaisnt Miami.
For the reason a lot of people do not like Carroll (Kids in my age group) is that when we come into contact with kids from carroll and we're wearing GHS clothing they can sometimes start talking a lot of trash, but hey it can go both ways so i try not to take it too personal.
I've talked to some older carroll fans who are great people who give grapevine a lot of respect for the great games Carroll and Grapevine have played, which is awesome to hear.

You know when you put up numbers like slc has the past few years and it looks like their is no end in site you get a certain aire of confidence or swagger. Its not really arrogance it's just you expect and I mean really expect to win and acting like it just comes natural. Their team or fans act no different that any 79-1 team. I wouldn't expect them to be humble it took a little more work to get to their place in the spotlight than most are willing to sacrifice. They don't sit back and wait for a super class to come along, they have built a solid program. Let-em have their day.

Either one of these teams could win,, and the "loser" would stil be favored to go deep in the playoffs. I want SLC to win, but this is about SLC vs. MNW, not Texas vs. Florida. But, if Miami were to win (just typing that makes my eye twitch) Florida would have a legitimate reason to say their best is on par with our best. Maybe that's the better way to put it - their best vs our best. Because from top to bottom Texas HS football is better than Florida regardless of the outcome. We can what-if and hypothetically talk all day - but games are played on the field and not in staticians notebooks. So games like this are the only real measuring stick we have.

To me, it is a game between the defending state champs at the highest level, from Florida and Texas. People will make of it what they will, but I hope it is a good game and both teams represent their state well. And that Carroll wins of course..:p

If anyone represents Texas against the best in Florida, it should only be them. If they are an "elite" program, then there's only one elite program in Texas.

I think their fans, judging by the sampling we get here, have been very modest considering their teams accomplishments. Sure you can sense the smugness in their posts, but I can only imagine what the rest of us common folk would have have to put up with if a few of the other so-called "elite" programs had enjoyed similar successes. Why would any team travel if they didn't have to? Miami is coming to DFW to play Carroll. Carroll and Trinity are not from the Houston area, and while you may like the Reliant Stadium setup, Carroll and Trinity are pretty much unbeaten at ratty, old, Texas Stadium.

I'm sorry, I missed the part where I was anything other than grateful for the support! We are excited about the game, & I'm sure the Dragons want to represent the quality of football that is played here in Texas. Hopefully our guys can take care of business and make the State proud! If you were around in the aftermath of the Trinity game, you would have seen 2 programs that had nothing but respect for one another....If Trinity were playing in this game rather than us, I'm sure most, if not all, Dragon Fans would be Trojans for a day!

I would buy one as i'm sure alot of people would. Too bad SLC doesn't have an "official" football website. You could promote it on there and in the media....could possibly turn into a huge deal.

Get the game at Texas Stadium....and promote as soon as they can sell tickets to sell the stadium out. I bet it would be pretty easy to get all of Texas to fill up the stadium for SLC.
