Let me help to get you started .........

1. Southlake Carroll
2. Katy
3. Euless Trinity

and Baytown Lee needs to be in your top 10.

Champ and I always have some good debates when it comes to positioning the top 25. 10-25 is much tougher than 1-9 in my opinion. Once you get past that top tier of teams, there's much less separation between the remaining teams.

Last year, I felt really confident in the top 7 or 8. This year, it doesn't look like we have as many sure fire top tier teams. It doesn't appear we have as many experienced teams this season, so we will see some non-traditional types in the rankings this year.

As always, it will make for some quality discussion to hold us over for the summer.

Garland has NOTHING, and should not be "ranked". Lets just see what happens in November and December (again):D

KT,
Without giving anything away i guess, how are you feeling about the Leander Lions next year? Although they're gonna be missing Josh McKinnley and Curenski Gilleylen, they do return Blake Gideon at WR and Saftey. Also 3 returning offensive lineman, Reggie Hodges (starting running back. Had about 850 yards and 10 total tds last year), Blake Gideon, Lafon Clark, and Jacob Vittner at wr (not to mention Preston Leslie at TE, who had about 6 tds last year). Defensively, they return David Delware at DE, Frank Rodriugez at LB, and Blake Gideon and Dion McKinney in the secodary. Our biggest question mark next year will be the play of qb Eric Massoni (a returning letterman as the third string qb last year, but saw very little mop up duty as the backup senior got most of that time). In his six seasons, Coach Gideon hasnt put out a qb that was less than 2nd team all district. And 4 of the 5 have been the 14-5a district mvp at some point (the other being 2nd team all district). If Eric can play well this team could be extremely dangeours considering the experience at the other positions. I predict a 9-1 regular season with the loss coming in non district play (to either Judson or AMC), but the rest of the regular season being a sweep.

Someone will definitely have to step up and fill the playmaker role that McKinley and Gilleylen locked down last year. I expected the Lions to definitely push for district, but it's tough to say how strong they will be compared to the rest of the teams in the state given they did lose some key players in key positions. However, I think Leander is one of the emerging programs in the state and I won't be surprised if they have another season where they go at least 2 rounds deep or so in the playoffs. I like what the program has done so far this decade, and I've kept my eye on the Lions.

If your asking who the play makers will be on offense i can give you a prediction. I personally feel that Blake Gideon will be an extremely effective wr with his athleticism and speed (and his dad calling the plays) and Lafon Clark already proved to be a big play guy at the position as well. I predict Blake to have no less than 800 yards recieving and 9 tds or so. Also Reggie Hodges will be a solid 1200 yard running back with 15 or so tds, he was also an effective reciever out of the backfield. On defense, I know he will be playing both ways, but again Blake will be key to our defenses sucess (we've played numerous players both ways in the past and it has worked out great), along with Frank Rodriugez, who i feel may be a sleeper for district mvp next year.

I'd prefer to be the unknown commodity that surprises everyone.

We know that's what you'd like. I just think with Olin's track record, a great team with almost everybody returning, plus the infusion of an outstanding transfer QB, I think things are going to line up for Lee to have a great year.

You're not going to sneak up on many people, unfortunately. I definitely want to go across town to see y'all play.

Make sure you give us a good report during / after spring football.

BTW...do y'all have schedules for a lot of the teams, already. I am having a tough time getting the schedules from the ISDs. Waiting for North Shore, Mesquite, La Joya, etc....

May 4th today...can it be June 1st tomorrow? :p

You guys are going to think we've lost our marbles when the top 25 comes out. We finished putting that together last week, and reserve the right to make a couple of last minute changes. This season, the returning experience is very spread out.

The plan is to start releasing the top 25 towards the end of this week. I can't wait to read your reactions to it.
