What games are yall most excited to see next year?? Best matchups??

These are the top games that I will be attending next season. Can yall think of some others I should think about attending??

SLC vs. MNW - Texas vs. Florida should be the most exciting matchup of next year.

Cy Fair vs. Stratford - Andrew Luck and the Spartans facing off against the Bobcats and Sam Mcguffie. Top 5 players at their position in all of the nation.

0 week, Tom Landry Classic, Texas stadium. Dl and Dll semi finalists Allen vs Garland. It was a hell of a game last year, but these two teams early games will not show what they will be later in the season IMO;)

TW College Park vs The Woodlands

A lot of people are saying that this may be the year that CP wins that matchup. Apparently, The Woodlands could dominate the next few years after this one.

KT's. You should come out to Moorehead that week and make it the featured game.

Westlake plays Abilene and Consol this year again. (tough non-district schedule)

Westlake/Austin High may carry a little more punch to the Chaps, now that the Maroons actually beat them last year.

I would really like to see this SLC vs. MWN matchup.

For 17-5A,

I'm looking forward to the following games:

Cy-Fair vs. Stratford
Cy-Fair vs. Jersey Village
Cy-Fair vs. Cy-Ridge

There are a lot of other games out there that i'd like to make but time & distance is not in my favor.

If the schedule stays the same as last year which it should the Shore vs. Woodlands game would be in week two in Conroe. And not really knowing exactly what kind of team we are going to have next season that game as well as the Aldine and Ike games could be a lot closer than they have been in the past. Also if Pasadena Memorial is able to build on what they did last season then week nine could see the Mustangs toughest district game.

SGP at ET is a matchup I can't wait to watch next season. These teams have alternated victories the last 3 years, each winning on the other's field. So lets keep that trend going SGP!:D lol. We are looking to be as good, or even better than last season. We were to focused on letting Denzel Dewberry run instead of pass the last 2 seasons, that we never opened up our playbook. With a new junior QB stud waiting to get his chance on the Varsity level, we look to be even more dangerous this season. This will be a junior filled team, so they will have some growing pains in the first couple of weeks. However, I have heard nothing but praise from the coaches about how this could be the next '99 Warriors when they are seniors ('99 SGP Warriors went to the state semifinals losing to Garland, the state champs that year, by only 3 points in OT). I think ET will still win the game this season, but I do think it will be closer than many may predict since this is basically a new set of Warriors.

If ya'll are anywhere close in a couple of years to that 99 team then ya'll will be amazing. That team was ridiculously good! Garland played lights out that night to beat them. After watching this Cedar Hill team from this year, I would compare the two teams athletically. Their receivers were outstanding, Gideon Leonard in the backfield (athletic, big, and bruising), and their defense was big, fast, and athletic. I still can't believe that team didn't win state that year.

Aldine vs IKE is always a good game, even if they both have been down the past couple of years. Nothing beats Thorne rocking with 10,000 people and such a heated rivalry. I might go to the North Shore vs Aldine game, since it is at Thorne. I am sure Lamar won't over look Aldine after what they did to them their first game last year.

Spring didn't even make the playoffs, and TWHS will be very young. If you want to talk brutal schedules, TWHS has SV, Katy, Northshore and Klein Oak. And then Lufkin in District

Who was Garland's kicker that year? Man, he was nails!

His name was Chris Sims. He went to A&M but never played in a game - serious back trouble ended his career before it started.

He was amazing in the playoffs in '99 - without him, the Owls probably would not have made it. Garland has a had a long string of very good kickers - we'll need to find a new one this year...

i hate that guy...he ended my Warriors season in '99. lol. If only we had a reliable kicker that year, we would have that trophy in our trophy case in the main hallway.

lol quoting yourself? i hope our teams are good enough to meet up again sometime soon in the playoffs again. Although, for that to happen my Warriors have to get so good that they can take out SLC or ET in a playoff game. Seeing how we are in the toughest region when it comes to the playoffs. SGP is always in the same division as SLC, it never fails. We always go to the bigger school division, which is usually where SLC goes because the bigger schools in SLC's district aren't that good. I should go on a search, and track down every '99 Warrior and bring them back to play one more year lol. I'm sure BJ Johnson would love the chance to play football again, since he was cut by the Denver Broncos a couple years ago when he broke his ankle in mini camp.

Na...Its not the first time we have seen our team in the semi finals. But we have learned that at that level it takes breaks and luck to win. And the Owl fans know to give respect to very good teams we have played in the POs (SGP)! Its not often the you see a team that is PRE ORDAINED to win like Cedar Hill:confused: .Ya'll may be holding on to that win for a looooong time. I would if I was a CH fan at that game. Were you?

but I will say this.......you don't hold on if you already have 4 trophies in your trophy case, you just rewind on what might have been #5. Those who have only one in their case may be the ones who have to "hold on" to something....only time will tell if they were a "one-trick-pony". :D

But the best one will be when SLC whoops that Florida team!!! SLC will kick their ***** so hard the only thing you will see of them back in Florida is them recovering their wounds on the Florida beach while taking pain killers to relieve the pain!!:eek:

so harsh...lol. but i love it! i dont care to much for SLC, but i do love it when they get to represent all of TEXAS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL. They will show Miami NW that Texas is the best high school football state. I also like how they bring a trophy back to the metroplex every year, because my Warriors haven't been able too.

lol we have been down this road before farmerfan. Lewisville and SGP were evenly matched that year. A rematch could have gone either way just like the first game, so you don't know if you would have been watching a Farmer/Owl matchup.

Sure I do. You went D2 and went to the semis. We went D1 and didnt. We beat you so therefore we were better than you. Had we gone D2 I am fully confident we would have beat you again. Therefore setting up a matchup with Garland.
Remember it very well could be said that you never should have beat Abilene but that would take away from what your boys did.
We proved we were the better team than you thus my argument makes more sense than yours :D

not necessarily...but we will just agree to disagree. I'm not agruing AGAIN with you over this matter. Your team was good, so was ours, thats the end of it. When a game comes down to only a 3 point difference, then the teams are pretty much evenly matched with the winning team making 1 or 2 more plays than the other. The score was 20-17, could have gone either way with a rematch. I leave this argument with that message. It's over, it's done. Good day to you Farmerfan.:D

Just reading this thread for the first time has really got me longing for zero week.

Klein comes to Katy I believe. Should be a good game. Katy goes to Consol. and then TWHS comes to Katy. I may be wrong, but thats the reverse order of home field from last year.

I would love to see CyFair play Stratford.

If AWL plays Consol again, I'm sure that will be very emotional.

Who the hell knows when SLC will ever take their 2nd loss in 5a? Could it be this year? Will definately be exciting.

D08 will be a senior. I think that in of itself will be something this whole board can celebrate. Dragon Nation should be proud of their D08.

The old fair weather posters will be back. I've kinda missed Pearland1.

I expect Fair to be the D1 rep out of 175a. That seems to have become their perrenial role.

235a Will not get out of the 1st round. Hightower went 3 deep last year. I think that was because of the 4th playoff spot syndrom. Could happen again. I will pull for Clements in this district.

Katy, IMO will be very hard to beat. Very good team this year.

With the induction of Johnson into the Hall; How can Katy ISD not name a new stadium after him. 1 will have to be built sooner or later.

Just random thoughts in a thread that got me excited.:D
