Stanton is better than Quinn, but he will be on the board when the Lions pick in round 2. Detroit could save themselves $40 million by waiting.

Well Quinns draft stock is dropping because he is not at the workouts and plus he is coming off of a shoulder injury that kept him out of the senior bowl. I guess teams will pass on him if his shoulder is that big of a concern.

Nice picture. I don't think his shoulder is as big of concern as the fact that he can't beat anyone. And no, Navy, Army, BYU, and Air Force don't count as someone.

Stanton sure had a lot of success last year with beating teams:confused:

Stanton never had 1/3 the talent around him and his production has been more consistent. Quinn did nothing but suck until Weis showed up. What's he going to do without pudding boy at the next level? That's the concern. I happen to think they are both good QBs, but I like Stanton's mobility a lot more.

that's not a concern. quinn, with weiss, got mentored in an NFL type offense...no concern without weiss. btw, quinn has been clocked at a 4.7 i believe? whether that's true or not, people are underestimating quinn's mobility...

So what?? It took Brady Quinn time to develop into a great college QB. You think his abilities will dissapear when weis is not around?

That would beat Art Shell returning to the Raiders, because at least Shell is a HOF player for the Silver and Black.

I still think of the building they plaquarded Joey with in his Heisman hyping campaign while at oregon. never won the trophy. didn't do squat in the League. What a bust!

What be even funnier is if they built a life size Statue of Joey infront of the stadium.... Give him a 56 million dollar 6 year deal.

Bwhahahaha

I understand but most QB's show their greatest improvements during their junior and senior year. I think that what Quinn learned from weis can be taken with him to the NFL.

Brady Quinn = David Carr's brother from a different mother.

See that is what is killing the Lions from having a great team and a good franchise. Its that idiot Matt Millen thats the problem.

it's funny as hell when it's not your team, like when it's the bengals and now the Lions. But the Texans are right there on the cusp if they don't turn the carr around the corner soon.

as a GM, I cannot disagree, although his player decisions have not been as abysmal as Millen's.

I hate Notre Dame, but I don't hate him. The problem is you have to take everything about Notre Dame with a grain of salt because they are constantly overhyped. People have seen "Rudy" one too many times or something.

I agree totally...but I still like what I see in BQ.

He improved much between his junior and senior season. I think Stanton did worse his senior season than his junior season and lead his team to a 1-7 conference record.

The fact that BQ played under Weis should help his stock not hurt it.

I say it because Brady Quinn has showed me nothing on the field...

The fact that i hate ND just makes it funny that the Texans would consider drafting him.

What abilities do you think he lacks? Why is Drew Stanton a better QB?

Dont get me wrong, I'm not trying to mark Brady Quinn down as the next Joe Montana....I have question marks about Quinn too but I am just curious about what others think that hes lacking in order to be a good pro. Quinn has shown me a lot and I like the improvements he has made throughout his career. He had some terrible games against top ranked teams and his arm strength is somewhat of a question mark for me. I like his pocket prescence and his leadership that he showed in both of the huge comebacks against UCLA and Michigan St. Hes no sure thing at the next level but I dont see how people can call him a bust already.

I didnt start this thread to hype up BQ only to discuss the article that states Stanton can possibly jump BQ:confused:

Stanton can be had in the 2nd and possibly the third....I think that the author went to MSU or jakerz wrote it :D

completely agree...there are holes in quinn's game, but stanton is NOT a better quarterback than quinn, and has shown really nothing to prove that he's better...

Quinn was surrounded by much much more talent then stanton, Quinn also had better coaching...

Quinn is overrated, and doesn't deserve the hype he got. heisman potential my a**.

Drew Stanton was not throwing to Jeff Smardzija or however you spell it. He was also not handing it off to Darius Walker. He also played a tougher all around schedule, so bringing record into it doesn't really account for much.

I think Brady Quinn could be better. If he had gone to another school I'd appreciate him so much more. Maybe.

He played a tougher schedule but he played poorly against crappy teams.

quinn is overrated, yes. but because he had better coaching, in an nfl system, he's got the chips in his corner over stanton.
