Anyone know the name of this place in Arizona where the NFL hopefuls are going to work on 40 times, lateral runs, etc.? They had a piece on ESPN with Brian Leonard of Rutgers, and they had a short segment on eating/diet, etc. which looked really good. I'm curious if you could get a recipe book or something from them? They stated diet is over half of what they do to help these guys get ready - interesting.

It's called Athletes Performance or API. Their main facilities are in Tempe, AZ, but they also have facilities in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and I believe Florida. They are considered one of the premiere athletic performance institutions in America. They don't work with just football. Tennis, soccer, baseball, basketball, etc. It's actually pretty cool stuff.
That piece that ESPiN did on Michael Griffin and Aaron Ross, shows them working at API...

There was an article I read a while back that said using API's speed training workout program, they could knock better than a tenth of a second off of a 40 time in just a few weeks taking a football player from a 4.5 down to a 4.4 or better. Michael Huff worked out there last year and then ran a 4.34 at the combine. DeAngelo Hall worked out there and then went on to run a 4.15 indoors. That's pretty incredible.

Wide - I wouldn't be mentioning "that" with 4.15 seconds - I mean, that's a fast 40 any way you slice it my man. ;)

I'm done in a lot less than 4 seconds. At least that's what she said. :o
