You can't have a Vince dunk highlight real without the dunk on the 7 foot French dude. I was looking for that one and the up and under dunk from his rookie season with Toronto against the Pacers.
One of the best "dunks" I've seen from Vince was actually a miss, lol. Ed Cota came down the court against Dook and put if off the back board. Vince trailed the play and maybe tried to bring the goal down two handed. The ball came back off the iron all the way to midcourt. Carolina was up by over 20 at that point.

The 2000 contest was great because it resurrected the event, but I still have to go with Jordan-Dominique as the best contest ever.

The college dunk contest is always really good in my opinion. They find dudes from smaller schools that can absolutely fly. It's unreal. A few years ago they had John Hamilton (Helicopter from And 1) when he was at a college in Tennessee and this dude from Tulane who had a 48 inch vertical. During the contest, they recorded Hamilton as high as 46 and the Tulane dude at 48. Also, I remember Lester Earl jumping over the two racks of basketballs back in the late 90s.

What people forget about that 2000 dunk contest was just how good Steve Francis and Tracy McGrady were. Problem was that Vince put on a show the likes of which we have never seen before. Seriously, Vince, Francis and McGrady in 2000...

Why did I expect a video of some fat cops at a donut shop?
For me, it is still, and always will be Dr. J. followed closely by MJ, Dominique and Carter.

HA! I thought the thread said 'drunk'! I was waiting for someone to fall out of the stands and then after a couple of minutes.....OH! DUNK!
I always thought the 'dunk' was highly overrated. It appears to me that making an all net shot from outside the 3-point line as being more of a skill.

Maybe more of a useful skill in NBA basketball. But if you think throwing it off of the backboard, catching it in mid-air, putting it between your legs, and then throwing it down with authority is less impressive than a 3 point swoosh then I dont know what to tell you. The dunk requires much more skill then draining a 3.

And 1 guys are pretty cool, but play no defense. Vince did this against guys who were actually trying to stop him.

But the players are so tall their noses almost touch the rim while standing. I'm talking just the dunk.
Throw it off of the backboard, catch it in mid-air behind the 3-point line and sinhk it all net before you touch the floor. Skill.
What are the percentages of missing a dunk as opposed to missing a 3-pointer?

that dude looks like he was trying to to take the charge he would've obvioulsy had better luck putting his hands up trying to defend the shot

I've hit plenty of NBA range three pointers, but never in my wildest dreams could I even imagine doing some of the things great dunkers do. The closest I can get is about 2 or 3 inches up the bottom of the net.

What if you were 4'-6" taller?
Or if the rim was lowered 4'-6" could you dunk it easier?

The best dunk ever was when I took a Shipley's donut and dunked it in my hot coffee. Awesome dunk!
