I'm talking about like 97 to now, I just chose more new bands. And I know some of these bands aren't "Rock N Roll" but I'm talking about all different genres such as Alternative, Emo, Christian, Screamo, etc.
This is my opinion, not a definitive list.
1. Green Day (Minority)
2. Dropkick Murphys (Sunshine Highway)
3. My Chemical Romance (Famous Last Words)
4. Underoath (Boy Brushed Red, Living In Black and White)
5. Fall Out Boy (Grand Theft Autumn)
6. Billy Talent (River Below)
7. 3 Doors Down (Be Like That)
8. Hedley (321)
9. Bowling For Soup (1985)
10. Blink 182 (What's My Age Again?)
In parenthesis (sp?) is my favorite song by them

blink 182 at number 10? you should be shot...but maybe just a hanging, since what's my age again is the best song EVER
dropkick murphys number 2? no way, you're just biased! ;)
and where is oasis? one of the great bands to come out of the UK, period...
JMO, but i wouldn't have green day up there at numero uno just because i cannot stand their liberal views in their music..
sum 41 could be thrown up there as well, along maybe with jimmy eat world, linkin park
RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS???????? my my, man. get yo rock straight!

My personal favorites:
Relient k
The Rocket Summer
Keane
Cold War Kids
Anberlin
Daphne Loves Derby
Hot Hot Heat
Straylight Run
Plain White T's
Snow Patrol
Jack's Mannequin
Damien Rice
The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
Vendetta Red
Iron & Wine
Counting Crows
The Decemberists
Kings of Leon
and about a billion others that I would spend too much time listing.
P.S. Fall Out Boy just may be one of the most overrated bands of all time. You can't understand a word they say and they SUCK live. Hard.

That's what got me hooked on PWTs. Then I caught some of their more progressive and fast paced stuff and couldn't get enough.

Very nice picks.
Stephen Christian of Anberlin has a great voice and writes some awesome lyrics. Very underated band. Their new CD Cities is coming out the 20th looks to be great! Their live shows are passionate and energetic but very raw on the quality.
For anyone that has not experienced MAE in Concert is missing a great band also.
I would throw in a couple bands that formed around 97' to 99' but have since broken up. Bleach & Hangnail.
Counting Crows? I Love the Eighty's
Cheers

Is Pearl Jam still a band? I was reading this thinking, "Man, I'm old!". What I consider new Rock bands have already come and gone ie....Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Black Crows. I like some of Alice In Chains music and Foo Fighters.
