So here is how its going to be in 2007 - The first 10 games of the season will be played as normal; however, when the regular season is complete, whichever division SLC is in will have one less week than it would otherwise have, SLC will be crowned D-x champion, and the winner of that bracket will be deemed state runner-up for that division. No need to play the games in 2007.

Not if you end up in the same Division as The Woodlands College Park. That game won't even be close. Both Dodge and Newton will be un-recruited after that game cause they're going to be made to look so bad. Even Todd Dodge will withdraw his offer to Riley to play at North Texas. My prediction:
College Park 57
Southlake Carroll 3

Oh man. If you're betting against the field, you probably should take 5-1 odds at the very least. Your 100 against 500.
By the way, the question in my original post was rhetorical. I don't think the Admins would appreciate this Board turning into the Vegas Sportsbook. Not without the complimentary beverages anyway.

In all seriousness though, the only team that I see right now that could break Carroll's streak is Euless Trinity. Maybe Katy if they end up in the same division. A Carroll-ET matchup would be a toss-up. They should be slightly favored against Katy.

We get a lot of our kids back. 2007 will be the first year we have a decent number of seniors to pick from. I think we should match up ok with The Woodlands and hopefully, we put up a respectable showing against Lufkin. We did end our season on a pretty good note with a 38-45 playoff loss to a pretty good Klein Forest team. Hopefully we can build on the positives from last year.

(Homer) Look for Euless Trinity to be back in top form. There are alot of great teams so it will be tough getting through our opponets but somehow I think we will. 2007 will be a team to remember! The defense will be great and the offense should be even better. I can't stand the off-season! Let's play some H.S. football!

Let's make the season more exciting. SLC should give all the District teams a 25 point start and then the score at the end of the game will be deemed the result.

Well, at least we get to see if it was Todd Dodge or the superior kids of Southlake. If I was a betting man I would say they dont repeat. Offense will still be awesome but the defense has to learn a new system and terminology. Might be just enough for someone to notch a win against them either early or late in the season.

Of course you would bet against, as would most if wagering. The odds against repeating are very high. I don't think most of the Carroll fans see the factors as you do however. Most wouldn't claim that we have "superior kids in Southlake." What we have had are kids that work hard and listen to instructions. Whether Todd Dodge was the magic that made that hard work pay off will be partially tested in several months. But repeating can't be the test, as the likelihood of not repeating is just too great. The Dragons will have the same goals as always:
1. Win district
2. Play after Thanksgiving
That's it. Now, if they are playing after Thanksgiving they can start thinking about each game after that in succession.

So, how close to a loss was SLC against Trinity? Yes, they won! If , they had lost, coach Dodge would still be the coach? The supposed reign would be over? Would all the talk had been how they went out in the 2nd round?
The fact is, SLC faces these kind of questions from every team that woulda, coulda, and shoulda. SLC is the champion until they are dethronged! (I would bet against them if they play ET again in 2007) ET has too much talent again! I still can't believe that we lost to anyone in 2006. Good luck Dragons, until we meet again! Hopefully!

SGP 06, Think about when SGP wins every year or a couple of times and is always right at the championship everytime. There is almost no way you can say anything about SGP that will not seem arrogant to almost everybody. Can you not be confident w/out being cocky or arrogant? The mere mention of how good you think SGP is will be a problem for alot of people. However, I agree with you that it's either someone very young or having a laugh, I think the latter. I didn't mean for what I said to be taken the wrong way. I'm not saying that if your teams wins every year, and you say something good about them that it doesn't sound cocky. It most likely does, but what I am saying is that when you make a bold face prediction like that then it is no longer just a good comment about your team. It is saying that you just KNOW FOR A FACT that you will win. If he was joking, then thats one thing, but when I first read it, I didn't see it that way. I would be upset if another SGP poster made such bold predictions like that, because it reflects every SGP poster (obviously this wouldn't be said unless we had won as many as SLC has, i know that). That was all I was saying. Thank you though for the comment about SGP. I think we have it set up to where we will be contenders in any district we play in for the next few years. Your right though, we need to go much deeper in the playoffs to make ourselves known as true contenders. Good luck to you guys at ET as well, even though you may not need it to badly. lol.
