Lee vs. Colerain - Get over it Texas

Colerain won. Coach Owens agreed to go there and play under Ohio rules. Lee got thumped. Let's all shake hands, congrat Concha and whomever and move on.

If Lee had won 27-12 and Concha comes back and says:

>Ohio's best could still beat Texas' best
etc. etc.

What would we be saying? I know what - it goes without saying. Move on - Colerain ain't coming here to play SLC, Longview or anybody.

Yes, there is a home-state advantage, but this was not played at Cole.'s homefield. The better team won last night. This proves very little other than the fact we now know for sure a really good team in Ohio can absolutely play and beat a top tier program in Texas. Let's move on.

Talk to me if Colerain makes a flight up to Texas and beat a top Texas team. Big difference!! I still have big time respect for Ohio football but if you look at div1a and the NFL there is no comparison. Texas wins in a land slide.

Just my two cents, but I think these out of state games are pretty silly.

High school football should be a local event between local teams. State championships are cool, love to have that one state champion crown, but where do we stop? Will folks start lobbying for a 50 team playoff in a few years?

I guess if my team was such a powerhouse and we had the chance to travel or host one of these "power games", I'd probably be all for it. :cool:

I agre 100%. Who cares about this state vs that state. Texas has great football, but we don't own the patent. If I were to move to another state tomorrow I would find a local team to root for and I would LOVE EVERY MINUTE OF IT. Thank God for football.

Yeah it is very sad!! I just hope it is not forever or i am gone too. Unless it was for something i do not know about?? I hope it is just a temporary ban because wide has been one that has kept this board interesting and going over the down times during the spring and summer. You would think they would appreciate that??

You've got to give Colerain props!!!!!!! They played last years State Champions Tyler Lee. They got the job done and they deserve credit.

Colerain Fans I will apologize for underestimating HS football in Ohio. I would had notthought that Colerain would have knocked off Tyle Lee. Yes I do agree that Lee is by far not the best team representing Texas and is neither Colerain the best team from Ohio. But this did prove that a Top Ohio team can compete and beat a top team from Texas. Congrats Colerain on knocking off a verygood Lee tea.


BTW Will Colerain Come to Tx and play Lee next season. If not then that was pretty dumb on Owens part.

I would like to thank PurpleNation and WestTXRebel for being the only 2 to have the nads to give Colerain a little respect. They werent even the folks talking major trash. Those people that were know who they are. I know Ohio football has had a rule in place that only allows them to travel to a different state that borders Ohio.

I personally think that is the way it should be. Kudos to Ohio for setting that rule into place. Like Ohio, we can find enough quality competition in our own grand state without sending these young men 1200 miles. Oh we Texans have to go over to Louisiana occasionally to let them know who their daddy is but usually we can limit games to Texas teams only. :cool:
