Sv won this game early as the defense scored on the second play of the game and we led 19-0 at the end of the 1st. The defense looked great in getting 5 turnovers against what is potentially an 0-10 team. SV cornerback Andrew Sendejo is an absolute stud. If you were there you saw a vicious but clean hit on a Temple receiver. This game was over before Temple gained any significant yardage.
Now the bad news. The offense lost 3 fumbles one on the 2 yard line which led to a 98 yard run by a Temple running back. This offense will have to hang on to the ball if they have any hope of hanging with COJU. We have kicking game issues of our own to work on the next 2 weeks. We missed 3 extra points and dropped a couple of 2 pt conversions in the end zone. This should have been a 61-0 game.

Yeah, all 3 of those negatives are rare .And to have all 3 raise their ugly head in one game.I think with how we won Hill can focus on those mistakes for the next 2 weeks ,with the bye week here.

TEXASRED,
Temple is 0-2 headed for 0-10. They play a pretty good 4a team P'ville Conally next and Belton is the only team in district they have a shot at. They were our Laredo Nixon. Their poor qb must have thought we had 15 guys out there on defense.

That makes no sense to say Belton is the only team they have a shot at....

Has Temple really fallen that hard? Man, I can remember just a few years back they were tough! What caused this downfall, coaching change, loss of numbers in enrollment?

Their tailback is pretty good and they have a fairly aggressive defense that likes to run different blitzes (D-ends and outside line backers). I think their main problem is, and I am not trying to demean any kids, their offensive lineman are too over-weight and slow. When they play a team with quick D-linemen (like Sv) they are going to have problems. The refs could have called a dozen of holding calls because the o-line couldn't do anything but hold the small, fast, D-line of SV.
They have just installed the spread, and that is not an offense you can be good at right off the bat. Especially since that style of offense is so different from the norm at Temple.

the offense did make alot of mistakes,if we had played mistake free, and solid special teams,it could have been 60-0 ,we had backups rotating in at the second quarter..smithson valley must improve vastly to have a chance agsinst mighty judson..

I think it makes plenty of sense. They do have some talent and like someone said you don't take to the spread quickly when you have been running the wing-t. They aren't going to beat Cove (I hope they do) or Waco.Who other than Belton do they have chance at? Harker Heights?? If they don't turn the ball over 5 times a game they may beat somebody.

BELTON ..... If anyone has noticed the Tigers have been scoring points like they are free while going 2-0 so far. Temple was in game against G-Town, then Belton whips the 36-23.. Belton has a "for real" QB and great RB to go with it.... Cove / Belton game at end of season could have a big impact on what happend in 13-5A
Temple.......2006 can't come soon enough
