I hate to admit, but I chuckled a bit. This from Portland, OR...

No, that is funny. Anyone dumb enough to try and drive in those conditions (unless in an absolute emergency) deserves the impending ridicule from the greatly amused public.

I'd like to see that first guy explain his wreck to the insurance company...

First I made a left and hit this car, then did a 360 off that truck, bounced off that car, then slide 50yds down the road side way and hit every car on that road.......priceless.

That video closely resembled a monster truck rally.

in the past 2 days I have seen:

a person in Huntsville at a carwash trying to get ice off of the windshield. not a drive through, mind you, but a self service car wash(WTF????)

several folks using CD cases, compacts, and other various "tools" scraping their windows to get ice off.( having lived in Amarillo, i still have my trusty "real" scraper and snow brush. Most of the time they ask me what it is, and I tell them it is for doing what they're trying to do, only way faster)

others taking hot water, without any thought to the physics of it all) fully intending to pour it on their windshield to get the ice off.

a city putting sand down 12-15 hours before the precipitation started( great thinking Houston)

when the temp was 34 on Monday, people looked as if they were looking for an expedition to Everest, because they had entirely too much heavy gear on.

i had to show an employee that those wires in the rear window are just the antenna, but also the REAR DEFROSTER!( he made me promise not to tell the rest of the building, but y'all don't know him so the secret is safe:D )

i had people ask if we come to work when it gets below 32...

It has been mighty educational the last few days...

I had a laugh this morning. I was sitting at a gas station drinking some coffee and watching the few cars that dared to brave the completely frozen over Winters Freeway in Abilene this morning. I was right by an overpass and I watched this old lady who couldn't have been doing more than 10 mph. She starts to climb the overpass and doesn't bother giving the car any more gas. she gets about half way up and the ice and physics took over and she started to slide back down the overpass. She slid back a good 100 yards or so and tried again. She made it up about 3/4 of the way this time before sliding back down again. It was everything I could do to keep from spitting coffee all over the inside of my car. She eventually made it up and over otherwise I might still be in that parking lot laughing.
