not even the great steve blake or joe smith can say they won at dook and defeated UNC in the same week.

VT will definately be a program to watch now.

We'll see if they are for real or not.

Wake Forest, Duke and now North Carolina. The Hokies have been no where near this territory since the early 90s!

UNC didn't play D at all in this one.

VT is a very good home team, but rarely match their performances on the road. Clemson is very similar. You never want to play them in Littlejohn, but outside of it they can't seem to win consistently.

It has been quite a while since VT managed to play solid basketball and I , for one, never expected to beat Carolina today. But they did manage to hang on and I will certainly take that. The Hokies did beat Duke in Cameron this past week and even with dook not being up to its past, that is a tough feat as you well know.

People do forget that back in the 60s and 70s VT was a pretty solid basketball school, winning the NIT when it still meant something twice. I was in the Garden in 73 when they beat Notre Dame on St Patrick's Day. That was fun. They remained okay until the early 90s, managing to win yet another NIT crown. Then downhill since then. Certainly not in the same class as the dookies or as the Heels, but joining the ACC has helped recruiting and I would dearly love to see them continue to get better each year.

At the very least, we can agree that it is always a good think to beat dook, whether it is the Hokies or the Heels.

My dad still remembers that game against the Irish.

KT...our boy Brandan Wright needs to work on his free throws. He has struggled greatly at the line the past few games. I don't want teams to be able to start imploring the "hack a wright" strategy.

Yeah, definitely don't want to see that. Hopefully, they will come out on fire and put Clemson in their place.
