View Full Version : Does Peterson enter the Draft?

It seems to be a simple question, but I am not too sure right now.
Peterson's goals at OU:
-Win the Hiesman
-Win a National Title
He states in interviews that he came here for those reasons, and has yet to complete them. Maybe he wants to give it another run at the Heisman? Hopes of a big BCS victory? Hell, he is only 70 or so yards shy of breaking the OU rushing record set be Heisman great Billy Sims.
What do you think?
(by the way, the next great OU running back is redshirted DeMarco Murray, #2 RB out of high school in 2006)

The better question is...
Should his convict dad have been allowed on the sidelines during an OU game?
Remember you're the guy that said Nate Newton shouldn't be allowed on the sidelines at SLC games.
I've been waiting 2 weeks to say that one again...you never responded the first time.

AP is a great talent and a class act guy. I think he makes the jump to the NFL so that he doesnt have to risk injury his senior year. After the Baylor/OU game a few of us went onto the field to talk with the players...AP was defntly well spoken and very nice towards the fans....although I hate OU, i wish him success next year!!

He goes into the draft. there isnt a ton of Rb's this year like last. this assures him a top pick by a bad team that needs help in there backfield.

the chances of the first is slim, and the nc, none. it requires more team than ou seems to have right now. he's gone. the heisman is the kiss of death anyway.

KFOR is reporting Adrian Peterson will announce, on Wednesday, that he is entering the NFL Draft.
And, stop the press...
You don't think he's ready?!
In 30 games, he's brought about 4,500 yds and 41 tds to the table.
He's...
6'2 224 lbs
Bench Press: 375 lbs (I would guess 225 x 27 or 28 reps. 30 wouldn't suprise me.)
Squat: 575 lbs
40 Yard Dash: 4.37
Vertical: 41"

yes, we all know he has the stats, size, etc. to become great.
he's also fragile. he ran 20 times for 77 yards against BOISE STATE. about 20 of those yards were also gained in about one run. maybe he's ready, but the way he played in the fiesta bowl showed me very little.

I base it off of what he's done, since he landed on the doorstep @ Norman, OK. You know...the 4500 yds and 41 tds?!
And...
He's not fragile...he's overly agressive. (A trait I can admire.) When he was a TRUE freshman he was trying to truck SENIOR LB's. (Most of whom he ran over!) That can take its toll, but it does gain something else...besides yds. It gains respect. Respect form teammates, other players, legends of the game and NFL Scouts/Coaches.
The only thing the NFL needs to worry about is Adrian trying to run over a Brahma Bull, or something. They will tell him, "Hey, run a few out of bounds! No need to try and kill everyone on the field!"
Oh no...AD has earned his way! No doubt!

Yes, he was. While it was a meaningless TD - to a countless number of non-OU fans - it still held respect from his peers and those who mattered most. That kind of committment and effort resides in the kind of athlete coveted by the NFL. And to think, he's had that kind of attitude, since he arrived in College.
Honestly, it's just something most - outside of the arena, probably wouuldn't understand....which is why it's unique.
Overly agressive = Earl Campbell. I don't think there are many who will say he was fragile because he kept trying to run over everyone on the HS, College and NFL field. I may be wrong, but there's not a negative damn thing I can say about Earl's committment and effort. As a matter of fact, his STYLE of play is so RESPECTED, it's LEGENDARY!

What has Ginn proved other than he is Fast? I don't even think he was the best WR on his team.
