We were talking about it in another thread and I thought I'd list the top teams since I like a few of them and we have a developing story going on this year:
Plano 36 (1960-1995)
Brownwood 32 (1958-1989)
Odessa Permian 32 (1965-1996)
There are no surprises with those 3 as they combine for 20 state titles between them.
Converse Judson 29 (1977-2005)
Pilot Point 29 (1977-2005)
Judson will make it 30 after this week. Pilot Point is 3-4 and needs to win their last 3 games to ensure the streak stays alive. If they only win 2 of the 3 games, they'd need to go 3 rounds deep in the playoffs to keep it alive.
Universal City Randolph 28 (1963-1990)
What do you know? The place I used to work and the school about 3 miles from Judson. They used to play Judson in the old days and are 7-2 against the Rockets.
Wichita Falls 27 (1937-1963)
Where I live now.
Conroe 26 (1961-1986)
Harlingen 26 (1972-1997)
Most losing seasons in a row:
Brownsville Porter 28 (1975-2002)

Here's a somewhat outdated graphic I conjured up a little over a year ago but it's only missing the 2006 data... This was the list of longest active streaks going in to the 2006 season and how far each of the programs advanced during their respective streaks.
Yeah, Skyline has qualified 13 years in a row now, but they've only made it past the area round once in 13 years, whereas La Marque has advanced to the Quarterfinals 14 times in their 17 year streak.... (and actually if you look at the numbers those 14 appearances were all in the past 15 seasons)

I also think it's incredible that Refugio had 10 consecutive years with at least 10 wins. Wonder who has the record for that?

I'm pretty sure Calallen still holds both the 9-win and 10-win records with 16 consecutive 10-win seasons (1988-2003) and are shooting for 21 consecutive 9-win seasons (1987-present).

Thanks WOS87! Everyone has their favorite statistics... To me, those double-digit win seasons, year after year, paint the big picture of a program's dominance.

That is for sure...no one can deny that...every school should strive for that type of record...

For playoff record you have southlake at 78-16-1. Can you explain the "1" and when did it happen?

I thought for sure I'd see Bowie on that last list. :(
Their win must have been before I started paying attention. Maybe back in the early 90's? I know for sure we've lost to Judson 3 times, Bryan and RR McNeil once each. I'd have to find some records to see who else has beaten us in the Playoffs.
We don't have much of a history in football.

Austin Bowie is 1-10-0 in playoff games. You guys won 42-35 over Waco in 1992, then lost to Spring Westfield in the 2nd round.
The 10 losses:
1990 - Round Rock
1992 - Spring Westfield
1993 - Killeen Ellison
1994 - Converse Judson
1995 - Converse Judson
1996 - Converse Judson
1998 - Bryan
2001 - Converse Judson
2002 - Converse Judson
2004 - Round Rock McNeil

hahaha Good Lord! I hate Judson even more now! :D
Those losses are so depressing. Up HUGE on Judson in '96 at halftime only to lose on a controversial FG at the end after Bowie blocked the previous kick. Double OT in '02 against Judson.
That Bryan game in '98 was very very close. 0-0 game till about :04 left in the game. Bowie had held Bryan on 2 occassions on their 1 yard line. Bryan went for it on 4th from the Bowie 1 two times and got stopped. At the end, it was 3rd down on the 1 again and they finally got it across. Bowie blocked the XP. 6-0 loss.
The McNeil game was pretty close too.

I think SV is working on #11 since 1996. And has 12 winning seasons in the 13 years Larry Hill has coached there...not to shabby
94' - lost 1st round to Hays (I believe)
96' - Lost 2nd round to Waco university (note: waco's RB was Ladanian Tomlin
son.)
97' - lost in 3rd to CC Calallan
98' - lost in state semis to La Marque
99' - lost in 3rd round to Clemons
00' - lost in 3rd round to Roosevelt
01' - lost in state finals to Denton Ryan (4A)
02' - lost in state finals to Southlake Carroll (5A)
03' - lost in 2nd round to Clemons
04' - lost in state finals to Southlake Carroll
05' - lost in state semis to Katy
06' - lost in 1st round to San Marcos
* Its interesting to note every time SV has gotten past the 3rd round of the playoffs they have advanced to the semis or further.
I'm 99.9% sure about everything except for the team SV lost to in 94'...I'm pretty sure it was Hays, but I could be wrong. Everything else should be spot on. And this is only counting the Larry Hill era. Everything before that gets kinda blurry. :)

The 91 game with Gladewater was when we really made our mark, as a junior class. We were down 21-0 at half to Stony Clark and Gladewater. Coach Lineweaver came in at half and brought us all to Jesus. As a result of our revival we went out and put up a 42-0 half.
