Games on tap for this week.
Falls (4-0) vs. Langham (1-3)
Last week, Langham gets back several injuries and pulls the upset against Jersey Village. Falls will need to avoid a let down after last week's big win but should take care of business.
Fair (3-1) vs. Springs (0-4)
Fair should take this one handily.
Ridge (3-1) vs. JV (2-2)
Village coming off an upset loss and has several athletes. Ridge's only loss in district is to Falls and has more athletes. I think Ridge takes this one.
Strake (2-2) vs. Cy Creek (1-3)
Should be the most interesting game in district this week. Creek's 3 losses have been to 3 of the 4 front runners in district at this point. Strake is coming off a win and should be up this week. I am sure Creek will put points on the board. The key will be if Strake can put enough on te board against Creek's defense which has not proven they can stop anyone yet.
Thoughts?

Falls 35 Lagham 14
Lagham will move the ball but they are prone to turn the ball over. Falls will have too much firepower for Lagham.
Fair 49 Springs 7
Statement game, Fair shut down Lewis last year and they will again.
250 Plus for McGuffie
Strake 41 Creek 38
Creek's Defense is so pitiful it takes away from productive offense.
And my gutsy pick is JV 31 Ridge 30..it could happen. JV has a hard hitting defense and has shown signs of life.

Cy Falls 42, LC 21 - Falls has too much for LC at this point - they need to keep pressure on Jenkins though
Cy Fair 45 Cy Springs 17 - McGuffie may have 300 this week:)
Strake 28, Creek 21 - Strake wants that playoff spot more
Ridge 21 JV 14 - I just think Ridge is playing good ball right now

Falls
Fair
Ridge
Strake
All win this week.
I have a question. Once a team has secured a playoff spot. What does the Coach do with 1 or 2 games left? Is it more important in 175a to get the District title or enter the post season healthy?
Or let's say Falls locks it up with 1 game left. Does Fair and Ridge rest their starters?
And what about the implications of that #4 spot?:D

The Fair fans disappeared except for you and a couple of others. There are only 4 or 5 Cy Falls fans that post on an ongoing basis anyway and we are all still here...and will be for the rest of the season...and in my case into next year:D

If things stay on course, Falls would be 6-0 heading into week 10 and would be heading to Division 2 as the district champ. The main thing on the line in the Ridge/Fair will be the representation from the district in Division 1. Many had assumed that after the Fair/Falls game, both would win out and both would represent the district as #1 seeds in each division. With the Ridge/Fair game still on tap and Ridge continuing to win, it could put one final twist on where everyone goes. However, the main race will be for the #4 spot. This spot will be affected by the loser of the Fair/Ridge game and also by Strake, JV, and possibly Langham. Langham's loss this coming week eliminates them for all practical purposes. If Strake or Jersey Village wins out, you get into the tie-breakers they would have with the Ridge/Fair loser in week 10. Those are all contingent on teams winning out. Who is to say that one of those teams doesn't slip up more than once. Ridge could lose to JV, beat Cy Fair and still not know where they are going due to the tie-breakers. I can tell you, there hasn't been a season in the past ten years that has had any complete settling of playoff spots before week 10.

From what I have seen in the past they will all go all out for the district title. Once that is determined, they will back off (a little) if they have a playoff spot secured so they can rest players but not let them get rusty. If Fair or Ridge win their next 2 (which they should) that means Falls can not rest until the last game. So it seems to be full speed ahead for now!
The question on Fair/Ridge resting players in the last game of the season against each other is a good one. I know the players on both sides will go all out in that game for pride. However, how will the coaches call it?!!
Still pretty interesting with 7 of 8 teams still alive for playoff spots. They all better be thinking about marign of win tie-breaker scenario! Let's see if any get mathmatically eliminated over the next 2 weeks.

Like you say, if things go according to anticipation (which it seldom does in this district) with Springs out of the picture Fair & Ridge will be Div 1 with their order of finish determined by their last game against each other. Now does that make that game anymore interesting? Will there be an easier road through the RIII-DI playoffs that would determine how hard Fair/Ridge fight in that last game?
Falls & the #4 will be in DII. The #4 spot will be going up against Katy in the very first round. Uh-oh, no fun. Prediction there....one & done.

I just went through some scenarios, and mathmatically and if things go accordingly, Strake, JV, Creek and Langham will all still be vying for that #4 spot in week 10. I believe Strake is the only one who has two scenarios where they get it. Strake can lose to Creek this week and still be alive. But, it does decrease their chances greatly.

I'll take.....
Falls over LC: Falls will have to protect the ball and put pressure on Jenkins.
Ridge over JV: Ridge is more balanced.
Creek over Strake: Creeks defense finally steps up.
Fair over Springs: Closer than you think. Be careful Bobcats!

Falls (4-0) vs. Langham (1-3)
Langham turns over the ball to much go punch to punch with Falls
Falls 35 Langham 14
Fair (3-1) vs. Springs (0-4)
I just dont see Springs putting up much of a fight and Fair needs to make this a statement game after the close loss last Friday. McGuffie gets at least 250 yards and a couple tds
Fair 42 Springs 20
Ridge (3-1) vs. JV (2-2)
I actually see JV pulling through on this one in the Last second
JV 21 Ridge 20
Strake (2-2) vs. Cy Creek (1-3)
Creeks defense has proved flimsy i think Strake will be able to take this if Harper doesnt rush for 200 yards
Strake 27 Creek 17

I'll take Falls, Fair & Strake (because they are at home). As far as Ridge/JV, I have to go with Ridge. That soph QB is something. Tall, quick, strong. They also have a pretty good defense that cost Falls 2 TD's in the first 3 min of the game. JV will fight, but Ridge is stronger on both sides of the ball.
