The wife and I made the 5 minute trip over to Grande to catch one of the state's best rivalries...
No offense to Lee, but Permian couldn't have done much better against air.
Permian ran and threw all over the Rebels to the tune of 48-0 after two quarters. I don't know if Lee just wasn't up for the game or what, but Permian totally dismantled them. I was very impressed with QB Tate Smith, RB Shaquay Gant, and both receivers, Bront Bird (also had a great pick at DB) and LaVorick Williams who had 2 receiving TD's...one of Sportscenter quality. Permian's defense was equally impressive, completely stifling anything Quisenberry's offense tried.
There's a long way to go, but Permian has the look of a district champion and a team that could make some noise in the postseason.

Impressive. Guess the week off gave Permian a chance to get the offense going.
I can't see Coach Quiz lasting through too many more beatings like this.

One word...Awesome! Its about time we get rid of some frustration from the last 12 years or so! Hope we can keep it going.

I'm not ready to call the Trinity game a fluke yet.

I hear ya on that Lonny. Tonight's game was really the 'Perfect Storm' for Permian...everything that could go wrong did go wrong for Lee and Permian pretty much hit on everything. Plus, Trinity is really good and a terrible matchup for a smaller team like Permian...the Panthers have one kid at 280 and the rest are 260 and under.

My other concern is they lost that game to Monty. What that says to me is that they lose to the best teams and can blow out the lesser teams. That's what Midland Lee has done recently and it doesn't get you too far in the playoffs. I don't think Permian is on the M Lee level of futility in big games and I really do think they can get to the 3rd Round, but they're going to need the right matchup to get to Round 4.

Good for MOJO. I remember watching them on TV a few years ago against Lee and Lee beat them by 30. About time Permian got their MOJO on:)

There are alot of us that remember that game. It's time for us and Plano to knock heads again in the playoffs. Would bring back lots of memories. Some good and some not so good.
Good win... I'm an "Old Schooler," glad to see you guys back. Keep it going....

Since the game was pretty much decided before halftime (sorry, Lee), I left to Odessa to watch Cooper and Odessa High.
