This JT team come light years from that 0-4 team in preseason. Ya'll could be looking at a possible district champion, no lie. JT overcame a good Mesquite team, HORRIFIC REFEREES, mental lapses, and kicked ***. The defense is truely amazing to see. JT right now is sitting prety in the district. JT is about make somebody life mierable real quick.

Lee and Longview will probably join you tonight at 1-0.
Stop Kendall Hunter and JT isnt hard to beat. Mesquite couldnt do that.

good to see them finally winning games instead of losing them.. well if they do as good as they did last year watch out, but last year they took a huge loss to longview. so lets hope they dont do that again this year

There is more to JT than Hunter. JT's defense was the real difference in this game not Hunter. He got his yards but JT WHIPPED Mesquite's qb all night long. This JT team is LEGIT!!!!

I and many others have been saying JT was good all pre district and would be in the hunt...they had a hard schedule and we all knew JT was better than their record showed...
Congrats on the win...east texas and Tyler is proud!!!

That was a good post and I felt it was dead on. Why did you delete it? The kicking game giving JT the short field on their last two possesions helped seal the deal. To their credit, JT took full advantage. There was a similar breakdown in the kicking game against Plano, correct? I think Mesquite played very well for the better part of 3+ quarters, but the aforementioned breakdown helped do them in. Fix that, get Halpin some more experience and Mesquite will be right back in it.

I'm a drill team mom, and after I re-read it, I thought, well, maybe my opinion is wrong, what do I know about football? I DO know the girls have to point their toes when they do a high kick. LOL... I do know our kicker was sitting right in front of me on the bench, he was suffering from what appeared to be a concussion and Krys, who had to take over, had an ice pack on his hip between his series. I did see all of that from where I was sitting...

That's pretty accurate. We played almost the entire 2nd half on Mesquite's side of the field. It's hard to win any games like that trust me, we know. That and a couple of mistake ridden games equals a 0-4 start. Halpin, really took care of the ball alot better than I thought he would. I think they'll pull together and take either the 2nd or 3rd spot in district. The defense is legit!!! They were just on the field entirely to long and stopping a rushing attack such as JT's from your own 30 over and over again, is no way to make a living.
Home sweet home . . . It's a good thing that this one (LV-JT) will be in the friendly confines of Lobo Stadium - a place where we have lost only two (2) games (TL-1, LP-1) over the last five years.... :cool:

Ah, no... Not no, but "hell no".... If they (refs) cheat, we would have beaten LP. In fact, sometimes we believe that our own refs (if you can call them that) have it in for us. Noooo baby . . . it's just that the Lobos play better at home and for some reason, especially when it's JT. I guess we just have a long relationship like that.....kind of a rivalry thing.;) :cool:

I'm glad to see JT doing better now. My old position coach in high school at Katy is now at JT in his first year there so I wish him/them the best of luck.

i think its 3 games at least. i dont know if yall played lufkin in 2001 but lufkin won in longview in 02 and 03. plus you lost to lee in 03. so its at leats 3 games at home since 2001.
