Just got back from the 1/2 game. With a little over 2 minutes left in the 2nd quarter the game was suspended due to heavy rain and lightning. I stayed a while but I believe the game was officially called to an end.

N.S - 42
Sam R. - 0

So how did the offense look 2nite?

Sam Rayburn started off nicely with their hurry up offense. They even completed a pass for good yardage up the middle. But then NS figured it out and it seems like the Texans lost yardage on every possesion afer that.

Although I have to have to hand to them - they seem like a fiesty bunch.

How about the NS offense?

Offense looked good. Although the passing game with McGinty is a lot sharper. He is a better passer than Vance. Aymond started alternating them in the 2nd quarter. I do believe McGinty will beat out Vance for the starting job within the next few weeks. It may just be me but the offense looks like it clicks on ALL cylinders (including the passing game) when McGinty is in there.

Yeah I think so too. I was talking to 1 of the trainers and they said that Semaj Taylor the 3rd string QB looked stellar w/ the 1st string O as well. He came here from NO last yr. But Vance better watch out or he might lose his job. I was looking @ bothe McGinty and Fizer's stats and Jeremiah, although he's had less opportunity, has a better pass completion percentage.

I tried to pick this game up on TSN but I couldn't get it. I guess that's because they had already called it. Sam had 2 yards of offense? All you can do after that if you're NS is stand up and say, Now Then!

Haha sometimes I think our team is overrated, but the I see stuff like that and I reconsider!

I won't say anything negative about Sam Rayburn because those boys showed up and they played. They made some good tackles on NS and their offense was really trying. I think their coach did a good job of preparing them for this game. The only problem was - they were playing a superior team. Not their fault.

Should McGinty win the staring job - this team has the potential to be something special - I am talking '03 potential. With a potent offense. A hard hitting - get to the ball - defense - it just could happen for them this year.

Still great! Ummm I'm not sure if Barry was back 2nite but I was informed 2day that he should be back either this week, next week, or the week after! (I can't remember which)

Oh yes and I've also been told that NS finally bought 1 of those blowup run throughs. It's suppsed to be a mustang helmet and we should have it for our 1st PO game!

Thanks for the positive on that. I still can't be that confident with them yet and I hope they prove me wrong. The D I have no problem with but the O is still suspect to me. After all, this was Rayburn not SV or LP. I just don't want to get dilusional about my Mustangs. And yes, I do think they are extremely good but I have not catorgorized them as great yet.
One thing about NS I do feel confident about is their chances of making the semi finals. As I looked at the possible contenders as of today, I like their chances a lot. After that they will really have to turn it up a notch. I believe their defense will carry them at least that far.

QB controversy in the middle of the season... wow.. I hope whichever direction we go..whether its VANCE or McGinty... that it turns out for the best.... but I say go with who is making the plays... McGinty looks ok to me.. but i need to see more of him in order to make any sort of judgement... Vance has the wheels... but im not sold on his playmaking ability and the ability to run the team....

At least they got a helemt can you image it they got say a horses head or worse the back half of the horse. I figured sooner or later the alumni, parents, or school would pay for us to have one. However I kind of like the way we come out now not a lot of fanfare or banners just the team coming out in a slow and confident manner. To me it commands respect and sends more fear than any dance or fireworks, dry ice display could ever do. As far as the game went its hard to say how good the offense looked. Not to disrespect Rayburn but we probably could have started the second or thrird string offense and gotten the same results. And you knew it was only a matter of time before their short passes were cut off and stopped. As far as them using the no huddle I thought it was kind of crazy. I mean when it come to conditioning there are very few schools in texas that can match us.

Well if NS develops a passing game with Mcginty then this team will be unstoppable, and absoultely would bust through region 3 and Region 4 finalist without a problem. its when they get to state were the path would get difficult.. depending on who makes it to state... (ex. Westfield...would be a mental and physical test)

i hope who ever is the best QB makes it(aymond will make the right call), thier is nothing i would love to see more then NS beat Westfield (if they make it...which looks like they can).. Its good to hear that NS passing is coming along.

It sounds like SLC will be in D1 this year. Do we run into the NS buzzsaw?

Right now we can only brag on the defense so no buzz saw here. I do like NS's chances of going the distance if the playoffs were today. But you guys would be D2. SLC is more rounded out as a team. If you met Shore you will probably have knocked out ET and Westfield both. Just think, you might get to see the new smoking helmet unless someone bought a horses' rear end.

Wrong on the D2. Keller lost last night making SLC's chance for D1 very very good. Probably 80%.

It would be nice to see SLC @ the title game!

About the Jeremiah, Vance issue, I was talking w/ 1 of the trainers today and he said that Jeremiah more than likely won't over take Vance b/c Fizer, like David Carr is the "franchise player". He also said That third string QB Semaj Tayor has been starting on varsity since his freshman year (in New Orleans), but he was an RB in NO and unfourtunatly we already have enough of those. But from what I've hear Taylor is a real play maker! He just doesn't get any PT. There's a little speculation that he may be starting QB next yr.
