With 37 straight wins, it sounds like Lakeland has a little game to them. It is also obvious that they don't play in Texas...:o :o :o

This just kills me. They show DeLasalle at 10 and undefeated and then you go and read that Brother Rice already beat them. Shore has moved up to 21.
Where is ET, SV and Westfield? I bet any of these teams would beat most of the top 25.

We can't do anything about it this year, but we do play DeLaSalle in 2007.

I don't follow CA football, but I think the Mission Viejo team DLS beat by a mere 7 points is the same team Oaks Christian beat by about 70.

The whole thing is a joke.

Ok - OC played someone on TV about 3 weeks ago - couldn't remember who.

Can't wait. SLC is the team to represent Texas around the nation. Just think,
you guys will have all those jrs this year playing next year as seniors. Will SLC ever be stopped? It'll be awhile won't it?

I think that Hoover is way overrated. How can you loose one week, the only win by one touchdown the next week and still be in the top 25?

Oaks Christian played the Venice Gondoliers...they had "Gondos" on their helmets.

No doubt Texas high schools are way underrepresented on these national polls. I'd say the top 10 in Texas should be at least in the top 20 nationally.

I would take SLC over anyone in the country and maybe by a lot. Especially some school in Indiana. Beating the crud out of people up there is a little different than doing it in 5A Texas ball.

I totally agree. SLC has only lost one game in the last four seasons and that was a state championship game. They're still #1 in my poll.

Yeah that is very true, and I don't think SLC will be derailed any time soon. Not this year, and definately not next year with the returning players they will have. SLC is #1 on my pole too, in the country and in the state. I would put all my money on every SLC game. I think even LP fans would agree that in order to really be #1 in the state, they need to defeat SLC in the playoffs and proove it to everyone.

from what i have now witnessed eithewr in person, or via television, i'd be hard-pressed to put any of the top 3 above the others(et, slc, lp). one of those will match up with the other, and maybe all 3. good stuff in the near future, it seems.

If you think this is something, take a look at MaxPrep Ranking...

There are more than one DeLasalle schools. The one that is at 10th place is in Concord, CA in the bay area. There are several others including one in Warren Michigan, which is one of the defeated ones. There is also one in Minneapolis, New Orleans and goodness knows where else. De LaSalle is to Catholic schools as Sacred Heart, or Jesuit is. There may be one in every state for all we know. ;)

Ah,.... yeah??? -And Katy and Northshore.... What's even worse than that was the fact that a couple a weeks ago they had Giddings, TX (3A - sadly enough, Gilmer unranked) ranked and not SLC.... Look, I have to admit that I do not make it a habit promoting SLC, but I was compelled to do something. I felt that based on their (SLC) accomplishments alone, that they deserved more respect than that - much more!!! So I blasted them in an email, basically telling them that their ranking system is a joke - and a bad one at best!!! Also, not trying to bash Cedar Hill, I don't know enough about them to do that (new kids on the block) but how can they be ranked higher than LP and Katy (proven winners for the long haul).

Just goes to show that EVERY one of these national polls are BS. Worthless, waste of time. Most of the state polls are no different. I am just glad this site has a very good one. Bad thing is that is only 5A. Which makes it very accurate on the other hand. Nobody will ever be able to rank teams on a National level. Human or computer. Not with any accuracy anyway.

The SLC defense will have more reloading to do. 10 of the 11 announced starters are seniors.

after watching the talent pool on the jv, the defense will reload just fine. there are several kids playing there that would start for every other team in our district(i know. that's damning them with faint praise). the db play looks to be well ahead of any i've seen from the jv in the last 8 years. the dl there is also very promising. and the tomlin kid is a one man wrecking crew, as a returner next year, is a good start. the offense may have to carry the d for a week or so, but i see they'll be in capable hands.

Good to hear such a rosy scouting report about the farm team.

On the MaxPreps site, Lufkin is ranked number 24 in the state... Errm... I can't even think of words for that.
