I Had a Talk With the Man in the Moon

I sat down alone under a full moon,
My heart beating rapid, the big day is soon

I took a deep breath and starred in his eyes,
And wondered if he was just one of the guys

I gathered my thoughts and I cleared my throat,
And I rehearsed my questions, and sputtered and spoke

Oh man in the moon if you’re listening it’s me,
In my burnt orange boxers for the whole world to see

I won’t take up too much time, yes I’ll make it fast,
Just listen old man to the questions I ask

Man…is it alright if I call you man?
I’m a passionate, loyal and die-hard fan

But my words sometimes cut, they’re abrasive and crass,
Like that one time I told aggy to kiss my sweet ***

Others think I’m obnoxious, they don’t understand,
They call me rude and obscene and wish I were banned

But to me I’m just real man, I can’t change my ways,
I’ve been brash and coarse most all of my days

So tonight on the eve of this sovereign affair,
Should I stay tight-lipped and silent and act like I care

Or should I stay true to who I really am?
And tell all the haters I don’t give a damn

I’m puzzled old man, I’m ‘bout at the brink,
I’m fed up and weary from what others think

And just then I saw a smirk on his face,
As the full moon grew brighter and lit up the place

In a calm voice he started to speak to me clear,
He said before I say anything, I need me a beer

I extended mine upward and he took a drink,
He tossed the dead can and shot me a wink

Hey wide-e you’re too tense, your brains all twisted,
You should loosen up tomorrow, get wild and two fisted

You’re right on with your thoughts, so stay on that track,
Be loud and be arrogant, and never look back

For in this world there are but a few things so true,
But it all comes down to the ones I’ll tell you

The sun always rises and again it will set,
The moon high in the sky on this you can bet

Rhett Bomar sells autos and makes some big bucks,
Stoops hates puppies and Jesus and yes OU sucks.

Right then and right there, I knew I was right,
And shot Hook ‘em to the old man and told him goodnight

My mind now at ease, my soul feeling better,
That man in the moon…boy he’s got his $#.t together

So onward we go, tomorrow just ‘round the bend,
And that’s when my Longhorns will be mudhole stompin’ again

I talked to a satellite last night...haha

I never attended the 40 acres...I went to Sam Houston....and that was enough for me.
