Houston lost today to Atlanta 3-1 - and the season for the 'Stros is over. It looks like St. Louis will lose to the Brewers - trailing 5 -0 in the 5th. Today epitomized the year -- poor situational hitting, decent pitching, and a loss.
Tough to see the Astros battle so hard - then lose 2 out of 3 to Atlanta - had they won today - it looks like it would have forced the Cards to win out tomorrow.

I thought they still had a chance at the wild card

If Clemens came back earlier they would of had a better chance but they gave it a good shot.

nope - had to win.
St. Louis lost, so the table was set, but they couldn't pull it off. Great effort, but too little too late as cliche as that sounds, its true.

They were out of the wild card hunt a good while back. The only way they were going to get in was to win the division. Good job Astros! Way to make a run!
