Well in 2 weeks it will begin and the real fun begin. JT has played their way back as a possible district contender after a tough september. Mesquite and JT will be HUGE in deciding the race. Mesquite has to still be pissed behind last years game with JT(JT blasted them 42-6). Trust me when I say it will not be anywhere near that lopsided this year. If it is true that Kelly Paige went down with an injury then that could have an impact. Anyway, JT is propably going to go in and try to get their players healed up some more. This district is going to get real interesting real fast. Have a good day.

Let's get some rest. We need to rest up and get ready for this showdown. Hopefully it'll be as good as advertised. We really went down there and dropped it on them last year so I'm willing to bet they'll be fired up. That was earnest smith's first game...EVERYTHING clicked. JT could have scored 60 that night. Non-district was a war and the injury list is full of casualties. Hopefully, we get the starters back and are ready to roll next thursday. Speaking of which, why is this game on a thursday and why are we coming back to mesquite. We're always in mesquite!!! Did you all get your QB back yet???

They will find out pretty soon what the status is for Kelly Page. His experience and leadership will be missed if he can't go, but I have heard nothing but good things about his backup Luke Halpin (son of head coach Steve Halpin). It will be interesting.

This game just took a major twist. With Page not returning this season the new qb will have to step up big time. Good thing he has 2 weeks to prepare b4 the live rounds start flying.

I wouldn't count the Skeeters out just yet, although they will have to do it without Kelly Page. The team will have to really get after it while Luke Halpin gets some more experience. They have some outstanding WRs in Krys Buerck and Adrian Richards. The defense will have to continue to play well, but I think they will be fine. I thought they were the district favorites with Page in there, but now I feel like they might be even with the pack, excluding Horn which looks to be rebuilding.

Is the Halpin kid a threat running or just passing? correct me if I am wrong but from what Carter fans told me Mesquite doesn't have a very good running attack. If that is true I just dont see them beating Lee, JT, or Longview. Defenses are just too good and too well coached to beat them one dimensionally.

Their leading rusher so far is Kelly Page as he was a dual-threat at the QB position. We'll have to wait and see if Luke Halpin can become the same.

WOW.....in HS the pass is very hard to defend if you can do it well....its almost unstoppable......

yeah in east texas i would have to say lufkin is the best at the passing game.. some east texas teams are still trying to depend solely on the run

It can still be done, but you better be very good at it. And you better have a great defense. I think the East Texas teams in our district pass enough to be effective. We're pretty balanced this year, although we pass most of the time. We'll take what's there.

This is the week and we finally see what happens. Mesquite has been very good so far and they have beaten the teams JT has lost to. A question I am thinking is will Mesquite inspired by their lost QB or not? This is another tough game for JT but they are use to it now and we will find out if they have really learned something from the Cove win. JT is in pretty decent shape now and I believe are ready to play Mesquite. Thursday will tell the tale.

Carter has outstanding run defense. Their pass defense sucks. Check out Mesquite's rushing against their other opponents.

Your right we should try it. Please make sure you tell your coach to keep 8 in the box Friday night. Because Longview is just a running team. ;) Good Luck to NM.
