Michigan has a very legit shot to beat OSU.
I dont think OSU wins the national title. If they make the NT game they will get beat by whoever they play.
Right now LSU & Auburn are better teams then OSU.

I completely disagree on Auburn and LSU being better then OSU. I think the Buckeyes are clearly the best team in the nation this year and the only team I see beating them is Michigan. The underdog wins that game a lot of times. That Auburn/LSU game was uuuugly a few weeks ago. The Tigers barely beat SC just this last week.

Auburn/LSU looked like an ugly game because it was two top teams beating each other up.
Just like the Ohio St vs Michigan game will probably look like "ugly."
I dont care about Auburn vs SC being close. It's the SEC and there is going to be a tough game everynow and then.
Look at Texas last year vs Tx A&M and Okie St. Not pretty wins and Texas goes on to win the National Title.
Tennessee won the National Title a few years back and they were on the ropes against Arkansas who only by the grace of God gave Tennessee a fumble with like 1 minute left in the game.
Every National Title team will have to overcome a couple of so called "ugly wins" before the season is over.
I think Auburn & LSU both bring strong offensives to the table with solid O-lines to pound on OSU defense. I also think Auburn & LSU both have pretty good defensives themselves.
Still a long season left. I think OSU is going to have a couple of "ugly games" before the seasons over.

Yeah you are right there is usually a couple of ugly wins every season. Ohio St. had a load of them in 2002 when they won the NC. I just think they are the best overall in the nation. we will find out.

Who's it gonna be.:D
Whos it gunna be? You mean if anyone?
I say, if not Michigan, it will be USC.
HAHA, speaking of USC, what happend? Remember in the offseason? Poor USC. You know all that and USC not being a dynasty? Well, USC has a great shot at playing for the national championship 3 of the last 4 years.

Well my first choice and hope didn't happen and my beloved horns didn't do it. My 2nd favorite choice doesn't have a prayer in the world agaisnt them nor will face them. My 3rd favorite team has done fantastic this year and has as good a chance agaisnt them as any so i say michigan will take it to them when the game comes up it will be #1 vs #4 or 3 and the winner of that game will decide who goes to the national title game.

Michigan and Michigan State.
There's not a chance in the world that Michigan State will beat OSU!! They just lost to Illinois. Michigan is the only team that could possibly keep Ohio State from the national championship game but I don't really see anyone getting in between them and the trophy...Maybe USC, maybe Auburn.

Ohio State has had a great September. They have beat 3 ranked teams (Penn State, Texas, Iowa) by at least 17 points in each contest. The questions about their defense has been answered.
The only team that can beat Ohio State is Ohio State. If they get over confident or think they can just show up and win they will lose but talent for talent there isn't anyone that really matches them.

As of right now I don't see how you can have an justification for saying that tOSU will be beaten this season. The buckeyes tore through Texas and Iowa as if it was nothing, in both games many (Corse comes to mind) picked against them. They've ignored hostile environments and won convincingly. Yes Michigan is looking good and probably have the most legit shot to take the bucks down, but right now tOSU hasn't given me any reason to think otherwise.

Gotta give credit where credit is due. I think tOSU is the best team in the country and they very well could go undefeated. That doesn't mean I'm happy about it though.

the really great thing about this question revolves around the perfection that is the ncaa playoff system, whereby we don't have to suffer thru those interminable quarterfinal and semifinal games. instead we get to save ourselves for that one game in which the opponents are selected by some more or less idiotic group of sportswriters and computer geeks, thereby making the choice so much more sweet, and without bias, unless you count the preseason poll-idiots selections, which practically and absolutely erase all but 12-15 teams from contention. what could be more fair than that?
how about the way every other team sport in the ncaa is decided?

Never doubt the weirdest team in the country on a yearly basis. ;) They will beat a top 5 team one week and lose to the worst team in the country the next. They are known for it.
