But i'm pulling for Judson. After yesterdays win we should have some more fans and the varsity cheerleaders will be there to get the crowd loud.

NOW to the team. Practice will be tough this week after that not to well played game yesterday. The offense did a good job of holding the ball for a while, but needs to be more effective in putting points on the board.

it doesn't seem to matter how good of a season either of us are having..roose just can't ever seem to beat judson...
Imean back in 03 the only 2 games welost were 2 judson(who didn't even make the play offs.. and had to beat us for i think 5-5) and Hays in the play offs.. it's just hard to think this will be the year when we have had better teams in the past.

1999 was the last tiem it happened.. so i'm hoping for a win sometime this decade...:eek:

defense needs to do a better job at secondary. o-line needs to be consistant and disciplined. #12 quinney needs to start. #24 needs some touches along with #2.

Regan
Lee
Wagner

If they win those games they will make the playoffs, so this is a must game for the Rockets. I do not think that they will beat Madsion or SV so this game is like yesterday's game a must win. It will be a good game only because Judson cannot play offense.

I would really love to see TR come out with the win. It has been to long. Once the game is over i hope best of luck to Judson as i do for the rest of the teams in 26-5. Quinney looked really good, and if you look at the way he plays compared to the way Bouldin (not Bouldwin, BAC announcer...) does, you will see why. Every play that the QBs keep the ball, they are supposed to do a fake. Bouldin does not hold the fakes, he always runs too early. Quinney holds the fake until the defense bites then he has room to run. If Bouldin would hold his fake a little bit longer he would have a lot of open field and he is faster than quinney.

It would be great if we could get both Quinney and Bouldin going at the same time (sort of what happened in the second half on Saturday). I think both bring something to the table that could prove useful in different/specific situations or series. I was impresseed, based at least on the Express-News stats in the game write-up, to see the overall completion percentage for Judson: 5 of 6 for Bouldin and 2 of 2 for Quinney (at least I believe that's what I saw---I'm not in a place presently to recheck this, but I'm pretty sure that's what the numbers were). Judson has had a certain amount of success inj the past when alternating QB's either by plays, series or games.

Great Post..Exactly the secondary needs one person to step up. I expect the secondary to give up a big play or two, its football and it happens to every team, but when its one person and it its happening over and over, theres a problem. Thats why I say its not the kids, its the coaching. Judson has tons of talent but they need better coaching. If a person is having a hard time u have to make adjustments, you just cant let it keep happening. Kindred will be keyed on, but we have our true starting RB back and he take some focus off of Kindred. Also if Bouldin doesnt step his game up, who will see him and Quninney start splitting time.

Your right on the the run point. But I think Bouldin is the better athlete where as Quninney is the smarter QB(much more deceptive). If Bouldin put the brakes on a little and settled down and relaxed a little more he would have the offense running like clockwork and make life and games much easier. I hate to say this but Im at the point where I wouldnt mind seeing them share time. Oh Yeah and Judson takes this one too. By more than 3.

whatever.. i love living in windcrest. It is super safe and the houses are nice. Yes walzem road is going downhill but thats because it's san antonio,windcrest actually takes care of the streets and have police around all the time. But why does this play a factor in the game? not many roosevelt students live in windcrest so it's no big deal.

it would be better for Roosevelt to win for Reagan, just as the Rockets will be cheering for SV, Churchill & Madison to win the rest of their games except against the Rockets. If a Rosy win does occur, that won't get the Rattlers in the playoffs.

Roosevelt has the makings of a good team. I did notice that they have about the same number in seniors and juniors on the squad with a lot of their lineman being juniors which could bode well for the Rough Riders next year, too. They have a good LB, dangerous QB in White and a good RB. Defense is fairly solid, but not sure if they can cover (and this is strange) Judson receivers.

Judson has won 22 of 31 contests against the Riders. Over the last 20 years Judson has won 17 of the contests and outscored Roosevelt on an average of 32-9. Roosevelt's last victory over Judson was in 1999 and, of course again in 1995 when both were 5A champions in their respective divisions which is the ONLY time in 5A to have two champions from the same district. Could be an interesting ballgame, but look for the Rockets to win by 3+TD's.

The people discussing the things that you are "offended" by most likely are minorities. Such as myself. I am guessing that you are not a minority. But you like to think you know what is best for everyone else. Sort of reminds me of what's going on in the real world but only in a much smaller forum. People come in here to have fun. Being a minority myself, I too, am offended by these comments. There is enough division in the "real world" already, can't we just keep this as pure as possible? You never know what might trigger the next person into saying some very harmful and mean things. With that said, why go there at all? This is a HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL site. Let's be bigger than that.

Great Post..Exactly the secondary needs one person to step up. I expect the secondary to give up a big play or two, its football and it happens to every team, but when its one person and it its happening over and over, theres a problem. Thats why I say its not the kids, its the coaching. Judson has tons of talent but they need better coaching. If a person is having a hard time u have to make adjustments, you just cant let it keep happening. Kindred will be keyed on, but we have our true starting RB back and he take some focus off of Kindred. Also if Bouldin doesnt step his game up, who will see him and Quninney start splitting time.

Judson is built on speed, yet they negate their speed with this Pop Warner-level play calling. And you cannot keep going to #2 in the passing game. They have two or three other guys that if given the opportunity, could make big plays. Lastly, I don't understand why you do not have a runningback or reciver catching kickoffs and punts. They have James back there and you can tell that he is no ball carrier. he doesn't even WANT the ball. Let me get this right: You have a "defensive back" running back kickoffs and punts and he is getting no yards, yet you have #24 who is as elusive a back as I have seen this year. The lack of offense and terrible play calling will bring the end to Judson's season. It says something when EVERYBODY in the stands are all angry at the same things. We see what's going on. What are the coaches watching and thinking should be the question.

I agree that we should stay with more running and would love to see the I formation again and let #32 and 24 run wild and still mix in the pass, but HC always wanted to pass more and hired the OC who would bring the current trend of offense. I am a tradionalist, but realize the passing game can cause many problems, but it begins with the offensive line being able to execute their blocking schemes. The current o-line is young and still learning and improving. Give them a little more time, plus 26-5A has more good teams this year than any of the last 25 years.

I wasn't here a few years back and I would have really hated seeing a team's offense sputter worse than this one does. I must say, I felt this way last year as well with the more experienced line. My thing is this: I have personally seen all of the "Big 4" in 26-5A this year and none of the other three have MORE talent than Judson, it's going to come down to coaching, bottom line. If they don't do well it will be because of the generals not the troops.

It wasn't pleasant in 99 and 03 (but that was more defense than offense in 03 with only 1 returning starter). But fans were not excited.

When I watch Judson play I am most impressed with Carter. Really good football player.. one of the top LB's in the area.

It was interesting to see that for the second week in a row Quinney came in and got the offense going. I sure wish we could get Bouldin sufficiently up to snuff, so both he and Quinney could go in on alternating series or even alternating plays, because I still think they both have something to offer. Unfortunately(?), given the way Quinney came in and kind of changed the offensive tempo (it looked more like the patented smash-mouth Judson style of "old") it would be easy to see a situation whereby Bouldin gets permanently replaced at QB. In that case, maybe they could put him in as a receiver or something---I don't know. The only other Judson precedent for doing such a thing was back in 1990, when both Zunker and Darnell Stephens were both in the game after Darnell returned from his injury in time for the playoffs, and played any number of offensive, defensive and special teams positions, and Zunker remained at QB as had been the case since the LBJ game.
