1. North Shore 4-0, beat Deer Park 21-3, next at LaPorte
2. Katy 4-0, beat Alief Taylor 31-17, next at Katy Taylor
3. Cy Fair 4-0, beat Strake Jesuit 38-14, next @ Jersey Village
4. Cy Falls 2-2, beat Cy Creek 49-30, next at Cy Ridge
========================
5. Humble 4-0, beat Baytown Sterling 17-7, next vs. Channelview
6. Aldine Nimitz 4-0, beat Northbrook (I assume), next vs. Memorial
7. Clear Lake 5-0, beat Pearland 40-20, next vs. Clear Creek
8. Lamar 3-1, beat Chavez 56-14, next vs. Milby
=========================
9. Cinco Ranch 4-0, beat Morton Ranch 37-6, next vs. Alief Taylor
10. Cy Ridge 3-1, beat Langham Creek 43-10, next vs. Cy Falls
11. Pearland 4-1, lost to Clear Lake 40-20, next at Brazoswood
12. Brazoswood 4-0, off week, next week vs. Pearland
13. Stratford 3-1, beat Spring Woods 35-14, next at Aldine
14. Langham Creek 3-1, lost to Cy Ridge 43-10, next vs. Strake Jesuit
15. FB Dulles 4-1, beat FB Bush 43-15, next at FB Clements
16. Cy Creek 3-1, lost to Cy Falls 49-30, next at Cy Springs
17. Baytown Lee 3-1, beat Kingwood 32-16, next vs. Baytown Sterling
18. Beaumont West Brook 3-1, beat Atascocita 62-7, next vs. Kingwood
19. FB Marshall 4-1, beat FB Willowridge 25-17, next at FB Bush
20. Westside 3-1, beat Milby 42-0, next vs. Westbury

No change at the top except in my mind the distance between North Shore and Katy and the other top teams was reduced. Cy Falls showed why they belong in the top echelon, Clear Lake vaults into the top ten, and Cy Ridge jumps into the picture.

Pearland, Langham Creek and Cy Creek all take their first loss and drop into the second ten.

Biggest games next week: Cy Falls / Cy Ridge, Brazoswood / Pearland, Dulles / Clements, Nimitz / Memorial, Cinco / Alief Taylor.

I think you got it right.. I like Humble at #5 for now, only because we have had some trouble with consistancy on offense.... Until they have a couple of games were they constantly are productive on offense... Defense is excellent. I like cy-falls at 4.. I think they deserve it

and i think you have brazoswood extremely overrated..

I have them as the lowest rated undefeated team in the region. We finally get to see how they stack up this week when they play Pearland. If they get exposed against a decent team, they will drop even further.

i would drop pearland even further with that performance or lack of last week they deserve to lose all respect gained. it was embarrassing.

I am a Dulles fan this year, only because I have become a Cotton fan. They really need to be lower than Marshall because Marshall beat them.

I like all the GOTW's you have highlighted. Wish I could be at them all.

I think the other bigger game than Pearland/Brazoswood, is going to be Clear Lake/Clear Creek. This is a rivalry game and no matter the record it is always a battle and Creek can throw the ball unlike Pearland, but obviously a 5-0 Lake is a huge favorite in this one. Although I think Brook and Lake's rivalry is even more heated because of common feeder schools.

Last year yes... This year no

And what exactly makes you believe that? The 14-7 loss to an undefeated Clear Lake team (which La Porte should have beat if they had not turned the ball over in the red zone twice), OR was it the 27-20 loss to the #1 4A team in the area-La Marque (while their starting QB watched the game from the sidelines)?

I understand the bitterness you must feel after last year's game between La Porte and Humble but don't let it mislead you into thinking that LP is unworthy of a top 20 ranking.

If you only knew...Im not bitter at all. Infact i respect the laporte program..They out played us last year. The won fair and square. No bad calls no cheap shots (maybe humble making the cheap shots, but not laporte).. We just werent disiplined enough to win. Do i think we were the better team..Absoultely... Did we win that Friday night. No... thats all that matter..

Pearland beat that #1 4a team...and lost 40-20 to clear lake. please dont base how good you are on what other teams do. Its deceiving... Differnt teams run differnt schemes... The way they react with each other is like chemicals..Diffrent outcomes... Because Laporte lost to lamarquem and pearland beat them.. Doesnt mean that Pearland can beat laporte.. You see what im saying?????? Its really tough to measure a team in high school football against another team based on a score, its better left on the field... But would i rank Laporte as of now. No. Thier defense causes the laporte team to have to play from behind... Thats my reasoning. boogie is a great QB..but it isnt fair that he has to pull a win out of his butt every friday night... If the defense improves then i see laporte in the top ten...If not. Then its a no go for me

I'm not following you. I'm not basing how good La Porte is on how other teams faired. I never mentioned Pearland. My point is that La Porte lost to a very good, undefeated Clear Lake team (that I think they should have beat based on 2 int's in the red zone) and a 7 point loss to the #1 area ranked 4A team-La Marque (without the services of the LP QB).

I didn't mention any scenarios where one team is better then another based on common opponents. You're right on that issue...it's not a valid arguement.

That's my reasoning for La Porte deserving a ranking in the Region III top 20. After all...they didn't lose much as far as skill players are concerned. The area of concern would be the secondary. The rest of the defense is solid, if unspectacular.

To me the Brook/Lake rivarly is more than the Lake/Creek one. I went to Clear Lake Int. which is slpit down the middle when it comes to sending students to Lake and Brook. And since Brook is a newer school and their close ties to us, I think were easily their biggest rival as well. The only thing really backing the Lake/Creek rivalry now is the history and the festivities (Beat Creek Week).

I dont know if were a huge favorite, the team probably has a lot of confidence and swagger going in after beating Pearland but Creek was predicted to be a big factor in 24-5a this year, district play is all that matters when it comes down to it and its still early enough for them to become a factor again, a victory over Lake would put them right back into the mix and they know it. Should be an intense, great game and another good chapter into the rivalry

My apologies... i mixed 2 posts together...wheni wrote this i had just finished writing another post regarding the comparision theory.
