Just returned from the game. Falls wins 49-30 and this score is not indicative of how awesome Cy Falls was tonight. They scored all 49 before the end of the first half and then the 2nd and 3rd strings came in at some of the positions in the second half and Creek seized that opportunity to score. DJ Harper could do nothing against our starters - I couldn't believe what I was seeing but I was loving it. He did get some yards in the second half - first half, nothing.
Jack Freeman is my new hero (or maybe superhero!!)...Good to have him back...he and Welch, Holland, Thomas, Stephens, Williams, O-line, Defense, special teams, etc etc - the WHOLE team was FANTASTIC!!! Way to go EAGLES!!!! The only thing I wish is that the backups had been able to score something in the second half:( But, it's good for them to have the chance to get in there in these situations and it gives the starters a rest.
GREAT Game Eagles - now it's time to focus on Ridge - they are pretty tough it seems. As the Waterboy's kooky friend would say - YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

Wish I had made it in time to see some of it. Got back in town from MY Aggies last 29 second loss. took a shower (hot today) and headed to the Berry Center to see what was going on. As I pulled into the parking lot alot of vehicles were coming out! I thought something else was going on at one of the other facilities there and was over with. Walk into the stadium and hear the Creek band playing, its half-time. Get in and look at the scoreboard.............49-0! Story here is do not pi$$-off the Falls coaches I guess by questioning their team due to the non-district outcome. Once in figured out it was the Creek fans leaving as I was coming in.
What a great venue to see HS football in! Yeah, a little pride here, but...........that place is great! Only knock I could give it........did not like the "shine" off the plastic grass. But, that is the state of the art field for now. I still want to see a game from the "parent filming" platform up top. It is still close to the field and above everything to see what is going on. Great start, Eagles!

They looked great tonight on all sides. Everyone was contributing and everything was clicking. If all of the starters had remained in, it would have been a scary score by the end of that game. The only problem I see is that Creek was allowed to score so many late in the game but, again, it was the backups they were scoring on so the side benefit to that is that these other guys get some experience too. If Creek had scored that many on the starters, I would have worried. I'm just glad ALL of the kids (or the great majority anyway) on our sidelines got to play and be a part of it. I am sensing a trend here - Falls has only gotten better with each game.

that place is great!
I took some pictures of it - will post tomorrow. I am too tired to go through all 250 pictures I took between the Blinn game and the Cy Falls game.

Game was over at halftime with Falls up 49-0. Falls racked up over 350 yds of offense in the 1st half, and limited Creek to less than 125 yds. Harper was held in check until the 2nd / 3rd team defense came in at the beginning of the 2nd half - when he was able to finally throw some numbers on the board. Scary what the final outcome of this game could have been if not for such a blowout early - for all 175a opponents -- Falls is for real -- don't doubt it. For the teams playing "patsy" pre-district schedules and getting a little coverage, beware of Falls in your near future.

Falls was actually quite merciful on Creek (sorry, Cougars). It was 49-NOTHING before the end of the 1st half!!! The running attack of the Eagles could not be stopped.
I'm glad Cy Creek showed some fight and scored some points in the game, but the 49-30 score is misleading. The game was NEVER that close.
Falls was clicking on all cylinders offensively. The defense held when it needed to and was able to turn back the Cougars with timely interceptions. It wasn't all perfect for the Eagles. The Cougars were getting first downs--just never got in the end zone--which is what ultimately matters.
Good game, Eagles. Good luck against Ridge.
The Berry Center has to be the best venue out there. I went to the top of the home side--great view. The 10 yard line, lower tier visitor's side--great view. My original seats--around the 40 yard line lower tier visitor's side--great view. The crossover (where I believe is the buiding where the basketball arena is at)--great view. The home side's concession stand area--great view. Just an awesome place to watch some football. I was very impressed.
Will have a link to some B.C. pictures tommorow (along with games between McNeil-Stony Point and Austin Akins-Austin Bowie) when I get back to Lubbock.
