Can you hear the phones ringing in Houston already?

Ags will be passing the hat starting tomorrow to raise the buyout money to get rid of Fran after he loses to Tech, OU and Texas this year.

Good thing A&M didn't schedule TCU or Houston this year or the embarrassment could have been even more monumental.

To me the sad thing is that the proud tradition of the Wrecking Crew has been just totally lost in two short years.

Since we're in the blogosphere and aren't required to behave responsibly here, let's start throwing around candidate names to replace Fran.

I nominate Gary Patterson. He's the guy that made Fran look good at NM and at TCU.

word is the alumni have already raised the cash to buy him out. I hope they get rid of him tomorrow. I would like to see the Aggies go after either Price at UTEP or the current Tulsa coach. JMO

Ha! Let's see how he does as an OC at Rice. The Owls had a nice game yesterday at West Point, and I think they will progress nicely during this season and again next as the recruiting image of Rice as three-yards-and-a-cloud-of-dust finally begins to dissipate.

Wouldn't be the first time they pulled a coach from El Paso.

Then would have to admit they made a mistake firing RC.

No it was time for RC to move on. He did an admirable job while he was in charge. The problem is hiring someone like Fran who is a very bad fit for A & M. Alabama must be sending thank you notes to the Aggies every week.

I always thought that A&M just needed an OC and that RC should have just left the offense alone.

You may be right, I really didn't think about it that way.
