38 yard pass, kick good.

AT 7
KT 0

AT is moving the ball well on the KT defense. Completed 3 3rd down conversions, then hit the long ball in the end zone.

KT has Dean running, but not much yardage. QB has had trouble connecting with receivers.

Mitchell played QB the whole game for Katy. At one point in time, he had 5 consecutive passes. Then followed that with 4 consecutive incompletes.

Dean really caught the AT defense napping on that last big run.
I'll post TSRN stats in a minute.

Whew, what a game. AT always brings it to us. Guess this is a good wake-up call

How did #7 Donte Elliott(qb)do? I TOLD you this was a trap game.......way to go Katy. I hope the Tigers don't get into the habit of playing to the level of their competition. Alief Taylor was hard to prepare for being that they had to overhaul their offense after losing their starting QB

KTB mom
09-30-2006, 09:43 PM
Talking about Stover run on TSRN, they said Dean had been dinged up on previous play. AT scouted it as a play action pass, but Stover took the delay up the middle then found a lane down the left side for the end zone. "This shows Katy's depth. They can thrown in anyone from the sidelines and get a TD," according to the announcer.

And, of course, Dean came back in to make that 51 yard run, so I guess he wasn't too dinged up. I'm sure he's close to (or over) 200 yards for the game.

KTB mom
09-30-2006, 09:47 PM
Elliott seemed to be taking it to KT most of the night. That option gives us fits, always has. TSRN didn't have stats, but I do know they called Elliott's name quite a bit tonight. I'm sure he had at least 150 yards.

And you're right, dada4w. I'm not sure if the defense took all the accolades from the AMC game to heart and thought they were at their peak. Guess this will make them work harder next week.

Offense needs to work a bit harder, too. A couple of deep forays into AT territory and they couldn't punch it in.

Coaches will be pressing hard on both sides of the ball this week.

WOW....this win is bitter sweet for me....I like Katy and I coached Donte as a kid....I expect Katy to bounce back......this just happened to be one of "Those" games....the difference between a good team and a great team is pulling "Those" games out....we saw a perfect example this weekend with Pearland and now with Katy.

Well, I think you did a great job coaching him! I just don't think AT had the variety of weapons that Katy does and, on that play where Dean was dinged up, we could put another game-winner in.

Elliott is playing the hand that's been dealt him very well - filling in for the injured QB. Kudos to you and to him.

He's a great kid....I wanted him to do well, but I was also pulling for Katy...so I guess I got what I wanted. Congrats to the tigers...the key now is to stay FOCUSED during district play.

Way to go Katy! I knew that this would be closer than people expected. We pulled it out when they needed to. Fuda could be havng a banner year so far if he would quit dropping balls. Oh well, he will get it perfected during district play and show it off on the way to state!

Fuda is dropping too many passes... and I also noticed that he and his brother are not blocking...this game was way too close. Alief Taylor did a geat job tonight. Katy was out-coched through most of the game. Katy needs to pass more if they want to do well in the post-season.

a. taylor played a heck of a game. they put the rest of the district on notice tonight. katy could have played a lot better; tigers failed to convert on some key 3rd downs. defense has got to stop giving up the big plays. overall c+ tonight, but a w is a w.

The last two minutes of this game were almost as exciting as the Katy-Cy Falls playoff game last year.

I hope Alief Taylor destroys Cinco next week for Cinco's homecoming.

Not to me. Seeing as the general consensus at Cinco is that Katy is just a bunch of inbred hicks that need to be put in their place, I don't see any reason to cheer them on.

That's a student's point of view at least.

Sorry that you feel that way, but thanks to Cinco Ranch's Coach and Football team Katy won the district title outright last year. We could not have done it with out them.

So true, last night at IHOP after the game we ran into some of the cinco people. Let's just say it was some of the most annoying trash talking i've ever heard off the field. It wasn't even slightly intimidating, not that trash talking usually is it just usually makes sense. Some kids who probably don't even play football, from the looks of it, would not shut up about how "supposedly" good they are and about how they are undefeated. Naturally, I calmly retaliated with the fact that they have'nt played a team that has done much in the last few yrs, except for the small playoff run for Strake last yr. The kid seemed like an idiot though and all he and a few others could say was "we are undefeated" and "yall suck, we are gonna kill yall". People like that, who can't come up with anything to say other than empty threats, might as well be banned from watching or playing the sport. Wouldn't you agree?

That's right. And Cy-Fair is rated # 15 on this board, while Katy is #5. For some reason Alief Taylor always gets up for Katy. Certainly not to please their home field crowd since their side of the field was pathetically empty. I won't be surprised to see them fall off for Cinco. Personally, I would love to see them kick Cinco's butt.

I have to believe that Cinco will not fall to Alief Taylor. I think Cinco will beat ATaylor by about 20 pts and here is why

1) Katy just came off a HUGE emotional game vs AMC and they were ripe for a let down.

2) Cinco did not look that good against MR and Coach Clayton will not allow for a 2nd sluggish performance.

3) Alief Taylor will be down after coming soooooo close to beating Katy.

The Cinco / Katy game will be a great game Oct 28th at 2pm... get there early or sit on the grass.
