TCU sucks for letting a lame excuse for a squad, in BYU, hang with them...let alone beat them! :p After the Tech game, I told farmerfan, dragonsdaddy, and a few others that this BYU game was a trap game. I just thought TCU was at risk to take BYU too lightly after beating Tech.

Don't get much crap. Mainly, just on here. That's ok, though, I eat crow when I must.;)

I certainly was a trap game. Norm Hitges was talking about it this morning. He pointed out that B.Y. had given a good B.C. team fits and had played well all season.

Can I just fill him in? I don't like feeling on people I don't know. It's against my religion.

Anyway, yeah ThEgReAtOnE is a dirt burglar. What's worse is he was a FedEx Sherrill loving sheep molester before he turned in his man card and went North of the border.

Two things I always notice about TCU every year.

Their offense game plan is sick. It's basic counter stuff that half the time gets the QB killed and leaves him with only 1 real option to throw to that most of the time isnt open.

Second.. they let their attack style defense "kill themselves." They blitz everyone on the defense leaving those dbs 1on1 and they cant cover those dudes all the time like that if the blitz doesnt get there.

That's what happened tonight and it happens every year.

That's my take.

They need to learn how the Steelers do it. They blitz on about every play and are almost always in the top 3 in total defense every year. Many times they are #1. They know how to do it without leaving their corners on a island though. They have so many different blitzes it is amazing. You think they are bringing the house but they have plenty back. They are good at covering up what they do. Their d coordinator is the reason for the many blitz packages in the NFL these days. He invented blitzburgh and many not have only copied their 3/4 scheme but many have copied their blitzing style. Nobody does it like the Steelers D though.

Yes you did. I was fortunate enough to attend this game with DD and sit with DD and McKay Jacobsons dad. McKay had a great showing for a true frosh and I mentioned to DD how you had mentioned to me two weeks ago that the BYU was a trap game. Good call Lonny.

There's another effect from this game. If Houston beats Miami, they will become the BCS buster and get the bump from the pollsters.

ya, I'm really interested in this Houston vs Miami game. Like I said earlier, if UH can get some pressure on Wright they have a legit shot to win the game.

I do think UH will score at least 27 pts on Miami. UH offense is better then FSU's.

The UH offense has been in high gear all year. I figure the combo of the UH offense and Miami defense will probably put them in the 300 something yard range.

what did tcu do with the defensive players that disassembled the over-rated tt offense? the db's for tcu were very average at best. the front seven got little pressure on the byu qb. the tcu offensive line got outhustled and outquicked by the smaller byu dl. the oc was not good at getting the huge speed advantage enjoyed by tcu into relevence.

byu is 3-4 plays from being undefeated at 5-0 and appearing in several top 25 polls.

BYU's offensive line and running backs controlled the line of scrimmage. The BYU quarterback sat in the pocket it seemed like hours. U can't blame patterson for blitzing, but BYU's ability to establish it's run with number 6 made life for those corners tough. Actually I thought the corners made some great plays in the flat, but no corner can cover a reciever for 8 to 9 seconds. Blame that on the Frogs front men, becuase they didn't get the job done.

Offensively, the Horned frogs offensive line was owned at the line of scrimmage. BYU's two freshman Dlineman were the key to BYU's 3 front alignment, and why the frogs had a hard time up the middle, which is why they struggled to score once they were in the red zone.

BYU is not Texas Tech or Baylor, you must control their running game to make them one dimensional, Once it was clear TCU was going to have to rely on the run blitz to stop it, BYU recievers were running free down field

As good as BYU's offense was I think the difference was TCU's inability to stop 3rd and long. How many 3rd & 8 or 9s did you see that BYU converted. I could not understand how TCU continually gave that long yardage up in 3rd down. That, the turnover at the 9, and coming away without points a couple of other times were the difference. (And that is a lot of difference!)

Both teams have alot to prove. While miami isnt have a great year so far they are no Okla state. Miami wants to have a huge game against Houston, and if possible keep them to 2 touchdowns (not likely, im with you on the 27pts).. Thie r defense is gonna play hard.

Houston wants this game bad! if they beat miami then they could be looking at some national attention (though i only see it as being, "miami let UH beat them..man they suck"...but hopefully not).. Thier defense is gonna have to step up big in this game, this is by far thier toughest opponent.

Miami 35-27.

i hope im wrong

The TCU D-Line got some pressure on Harrell, but he just played bad. He overthrew receivers and they dropped way too many balls. The TCU DB's had some good hits and tackled well, but they were beat numerous times and bailed out by Tech dropping the ball.

TCU did not play well on offense vs. Tech, but Tech was playing good defense, too.

Miami is going to have a hard time getting 35 points. As good as the Miami D is, I think Houston is going to have to be top-notrch to get 27.
