it was unstable that the lc-hsu game was canceled. wonder how they'll view it come playoff time? good to see jordan neal on the comeback trail. loved to watch him run into brick walls if that's what it took to win.

Yeah-- ACU won 52-14 (against a top ten team) and 31-0 the past two weeks. The Midwestern--ACU matchup should be fun. Hopefully the 'Cats will come through and give all the other heathens in the LSC the whippings they've had coming to them many years:D .

ACU looks really good this year, coach Thomsen has done a great job turning this program around
HSU is playing as expected, Jordan Neal is a D-1 QB playing in D-III, probably the best in the country at that level.
Barring injury (I know this is a bold statement here ;) ) these two teams will probably be playing later in the year than any of the Abilene HS's this year.

Fact: If I play my son in a game of wiffle ball I will kick his little *** all over the yard. Why? Because I am considerably better than him and he can't play at the same level as me.
Fact: When I got through I wouldn't brag about it to everyone, because I would make an absolute *** of myself in doing so.
Yes I know...that was an awesome analogy. Proof positive will be the fact that it goes totally over your head.

Fact: I AM a grad student at A&M
Fact: I fully expect to see Tech run up and down the field on the Aggies on Saturday. Doens't really bother me, I am at A&M for the education, not the sports teams.
Fact: I enjoy all of college football, especially the small schools, since I did my undergrad at ACU. The fact that I have an ACU helmet as an avatar might could have clued you in that my primary loyalties don't lie with A&M There is some good football (and some good players) to be watched in the DII and III ranks. I also like the chance to keep track of some of the D-IA schools (like UH) that get lost in the shuffle. Houston has a good shot at winning C-USA this season, and have been steadily improving.

Lonny, don't forget about the West Texas A&M Buffaloes. They might be the best team in the LSC this season. They have had a remarkable turnaround. Just a two or three years ago they were winning 1-3 games a season and were they only team worse than ACU in the conference.
They are playing Kingsville this weekend. TAMUK should never be overlooked in any game, but they are way, way down this year. Since they have kind of fallen of, the LSC South has gotten far more competitive and enertaining.
I'm also looking forward to the ACU-ASU game, ASU is a natural rival and always gives us a good game. I went to two games in San Angelo while I was on the Hill in Abilene.

No, I dont think they would get BCS Bowl contention at all. They'll have some hardwork ahead before they go undefeated but if they can sneak past Miami have a legit chance to run the table. But, no BCS Bowl. Just Conf USA Bowl games.
PS. Now if TCU can run the table they have a legit shot at a BCS Bowl.

After this week, one more undefeated Texas team WILL drop out. Small school game of the week in the Lone Star State:
Midwestern State Mustangs @ West Texas A&M Buffaloes. Midwestern is ranked 25 by D2football.com and has just been rolling everyone on their way to a 5-0 record. West Texas is D2football's No. 7 team, but has survived a scare against a 2-3 Northeastern State team. It's homecoming for the Buffs up in Canyon, plus the Buffs have the "Leaf factor" in ex-Chargers/Cowboys qb/lunatic Ryan Leaf as qb coach. The LSC columnist is picking Midwestern but I am going with West Texas in this one, so as to set up a battle of unbeaten teams when ACU plays West Texas on TV.
ACU travels to Oklahoma to play the same Northeastern team that nearly pulled an upset against West Texas. The last trip to Oklahoma saw the Wildcats torch the then No. 10 SE Oklahoma 51-14. The Wildcats keep rolling, but it might be closer than some think.

I thought that the Buffs would get Midwestern up in Canyon. Congrats....WTAMU is in the drivers seat to another LSC Championship.
Only TWO undefeated Texas teams left
West Texas A&M
Abilene Christian (who'd a thunk it)
And, there is only a possibility for ONE when all is said and done.....ACU and WTAMU meet Oct. 19 in Canyon.

It was a good win for them! I wish them luck.

ACU keeps on ROLLING their competition in the LSC South.
35-7 'Cats over Angelo State Rams in the 4th.
They are my lone consolation in college football this year.
"Oh dear Christian college we love you........"
Check back here for the WTAMU update later.

WTAMU is down to Eastern New Mexico 7-0 in the 2nd. (Well, it is past the
2nd NOW, but that is the last update d2football.com had.)
I still think they will pull it out, but this team definetly has some weaknesses. ACU was ranked No. 20 this past week, should move up. The Wildcats are a genuine threat to take the LSC.
BTW, final score in the ACU game was 35-7.
