I went to Ticketmaster online to purchase some tickets and the best they had available were in the mezzanine sections near the end zone.(no, I do not think Leander will be in one of the games ;) ) Are they holding the club level seats for the schools who make it or are they already sold out or some combo of both? Any help would be greatly appreciated.(no scalpers :D )

What I can't believe is how Ticketmaster is selling these tickets, so who is getting the profit from these games?

my understanding is that there will be a block of tickets for a large section of each side for the participating fans use. they will be gen admission too, i was told.

they won't get a cut on the game week sales at the respective towns, or the walk-up gate, but yeah, they may well be the big winner here.

I will have to be on my best behavior the rest of the season and the playoffs on here so I can make some "buddies" , to purchase me some tickets. ;)

There should be a notice on here to NOT buy the tickets from TICKETMASTER

Not sure if it will sellout, but would 70,000 be a record for a Texas HS game?

Send an e-mail to the UIL and ask for a breakdown of where the money is going for these games.

As much as I'd love to publicly blast the ticket system enacted this year for the championship game, which I may ultimately do and it will be fantastic, I'm in no position to tell people what they can or can't do as far as these tickets are concerned.

the plano-png game in ts in the title game in 77 was reported to be 49k+, so yeah it would be a record.

2 games. one at 2:00pm and the other at 7:00pm. You get into both games with 1 ticket.

i agree. they'll be lucky to get 45k. too many other distractions, and besides, it'll be televised. only the diehards and the school's followers will make the effort.

If the game was in east texas there would 125,000 people there because thats where the real football fans are. They are taught at a very young age to cheer until the very last whistle

the uil/titus/whoever is handling the concessions needs to make sure there is some good food choices there. the 1400-2200 time frame will make for some hungry customers and there should be some great catering opportunities, imo.

The all-time record attendance is 49,000+ at Texas Stadium for the Port Neches-Groves vs. Plano state 4A final in 1977.

I am amazed that a Plano guy didn't beat me to giving you this answer. With advance ticket sales in the San Antonio and Austin area, if the right four teams play in a doubleheader, I would think 60,000+ would be a no-brainer.

Unless they decide to do one on Saturday afternoon, then empty out the stadium and do it again so they can sell the seats twice.

Anybody know if it is being packaged as a double-header?

were will this 70,000 come from? with it being christmas weekend and if two of the teams are from DFW/Houston I dont care who they are they wont have a following of 70,000, last year at Tx Stadium Carroll/Katy drew around 28,000, you think it would top that at the Alamo dome?
I agree with DD, 45,000 is a possibility but not 70,000 no way.

that would be a way beyond best case scenario for attendence. that would max out the numbers for sure. however, i have heard that sv doesn't draw as well as other similarly successful programs.

Last weekend at the A&M v Army game it was reported locally that the Alamodome had some major problems with plumbing on the upper levels. In fact during the game (and remember this was at night and Aggies) several of the restrooms had to be shut down because ALL of the toilets backed up. The Alamodome quickly blamed the city and some water pressure phenomena, but I can't help but think that the lack of use over the years has caught up with the old concrete girl and done some nasty things to the pipes on the upper level. If anyone thinks there will be 70,000 here for "The Biggest Show on RealGrass Synthetic Turf" you might want to stop at the Velero Store and use the can before you arrive.

Don't get me wrong I love the fact that "The Show" will be right here in S.A. and I can't wait to see all the busses and SUVs roll into town ready to buy all of the $8.95 nachos, and $6.50 hot dogs; only to then go stole down our lovely river walk (otherwise know as "a Big Ditch with a Sidewalk") and slap down a Benji for a burger and fries. Then mosey on out of town broke, bitter and on the verge of obesity. But, because I’ve seen the old girl from the inside out. I've walked her cement tunnels and eaten the free stale corn they serve in the press box. I have seen what the clean up crew thinks is a "Good Job!" Because of all of this I say to all of you; you can put a bow on a piece of crap, but it's still just a piece of crap.

This is because we root for eachother (when we aren't playing eachothet). At the Carroll game, there were many people from Longview, Nac, JT, and Lee. As for the cheering until the last whistle, someone needs to tell that to the Panther "fans" that leave after halftime. By the end of the 3rd quarter, our stands are only about half full.

i still say no way, in 2003 North Shore and The Woodlands drew a crowd of around 40,000 when they played in the state championship game at Rice.
