2008 Outlook:
The Warriors played a tough schedule
last year and took their lumps in a
disappointing 3-7 season. South Grand
Prairie played all of their opponents to
close games, and could turn that
win-loss record around dramatically if
they make improvement this fall. Eight
returning starters give the Warriors a
nice base of experience to build 2008’s
effort around. |

2008 Outlook:
Jeff Dicus, previously head coach at 4A
state champions Lake Travis, takes over
a Duncanville program that finished 3-7
last season. The Panthers return 18
starters, all seniors, in 2008. If the
players grasp the new system quickly,
this team has a chance to erase last
year’s bad memories. This very talented
and experienced senior class is capable
of raising a lot of eyebrows this
season. |

2008 Outlook:
Rowlett pulled off the biggest upset in
last year’s post-season by knocking off
an undefeated Allen team in the
bi-district round. The Eagles were a
very young team overall last year, and
enter this season with considerable
experience across the board. Senior
experience is a primary strength of
Rowlett in 2008, and this won’t be a
team anyone can take lightly. |

2008 Outlook:
The Highlanders suffered through an
uncharacteristic 3-8 season in 2007, but
return just about everyone in 2008’s
rebound effort. Last year’s main
weakness, inexperience, will be this
year’s trump card. The schedule is
friendlier than the previous two years,
but The Woodlands should be
battle-tested by playoff team. This team
has a chance to improve dramatically on
last year’s effort. |
