#21 North Shore Mustangs

The Breakdown:

Vitals:

Few programs in the state have been as consistently good as North Shore this decade.  North Shore started last season as dominant as any team in the state, and were expected to be so given the quality they had on both sides of the ball, but the wheels appeared to come off about midway through and the team never seemed to recover.  Despite some graduation losses and transfers, the Mustangs will put another strong team on the field this fall.  It appears the Mustangs will be well balanced between seniors and juniors on their fall roster.

Senior QB Jeremiah McGinty will take complete hold of the offense this season after splitting time in 2006.  Junior DeAundre Jones showed flashes of real potential last season, and appears poised to continue North Shore’s tradition of producing highly productive and explosive tailbacks.    Senior DT Chase McEntee is a two-time all district selection.  Junior DT Thaddeus Randle, junior DE Terrance Kindle and junior DB Eric Ruben are a few of the Mustangs’ brightest young talents.

The Mustangs would appear much higher in the rankings had they not fallen of the way they did in the second half of last season.  However, this is obviously a program to be respected despite the setback and talent on campus confirms their position as one of the top teams in Region 3.  North Shore will likely enter the playoffs with 9 or 10 wins, but the real test will come in the playoffs when we find out whether or not the Mustangs are contenders.
