2011 Preseason All-Texas: 1st Team Offense

2011 Preseason All-Texas: Offense | Defense | 2nd & 3rd Teams | All-Junior | Rising Stars

QB Matt Davis, Senior – Klein Forest

* 5ATexasFootball.com Preseason Offensive Player of the Year *

Vitals: 6’2, 200 lbs., 4.4
Commitment: Texas A&M Aggies (19+ offers)

His 2010 season was cut short by a knee injury in the second quarter of Week 0.  In 2009, he dominated while carrying his team to the playoffs as a sophomore.  At 100%, no one gives nightmares to opposing defensive coordinators quite like Davis.  He’s a guy that’s very fun to watch because of his special ability to improvise and make big plays for his team.  The highlights below are from his sophomore year and the first half of the game he was injured in last season.

RB Trey Williams, Senior – Spring Dekaney

Vitals: 5’8, 175 lbs., 4.4
Commitment: Texas A&M Aggies (10+ offers)

Trey exploded onto the scene as a sophomore after running for 2,000 yards and 18 touchdowns in just 10 games.  He proved that wasn’t a fluke by following it up with 2,300 yards and 20 touchdowns last season.  A 3,000 yard season isn’t out of the question if Dekaney qualifies for the playoffs.

RB Jonathan Williams, Senior – Allen

Vitals: 5’11, 205 lbs., 4.5
Commitment: Missouri Tigers (12+ offers)

Williams enters his senior season as the featured back on the consensus #1 preseason team.  He provides the deadly backfield threat that so many of the great teams have.  His vision and ability to receive the ball forces defenses to keep an eye in the backfield at all times.  This has a huge impact on the offense as a whole.

WR Cayleb Jones, Senior – Austin High

Vitals: 6’3 198 lbs, 4.55
Commitment: Texas Longhorns (18+ offers)

Just like the three players mentioned before Jones, he also became a well known prospect as a sophomore.  Jones put up an astonishing 91 receptions for 1,050 yards and 9 touchdowns in 2009.  Last season, he missed a few games through injury but still caught 63 balls for 860 yards and 8 touchdowns.  Jones’ size and hands make him a top-notch prospect.

WR Thomas Johnson, Senior – Dallas Skyline

Vitals: 6’0, 180 lbs., 4.4
Commitment: Texas Longhorns (17+ offers)

Johnson transferred in from Arlington Oakridge after his sophomore season in which he found the endzone 25 times.  He moved to receiver when he arrived at Skyline and unfortunately his season was marred and shortened by a bum ankle.  Even at less than 100% for most of the season, Johnson’s 18 yards per catch shows just how explosive he can be.  A healthy season and experience at quarterback should translate into a big year.

WR Jake Oliver, Junior – Dallas Jesuit

Vitals: 6’4, 200 lbs., 4.6
Commitment: While it’s still early in the process, he’ll be able to name his school.
Oliver is a no-brainer pick for this team.  He has already emerged as one of the top receivers in Texas after his monster sophomore season.  He’s blessed with unbelievable size, has great hands and really shows an advanced football IQ.  Last season, he caught 85 balls for 1,300 yards and 13 touchdowns.

OL Hiva Lutui, Senior – Euless Trinity

Vitals: 6’3, 285 lbs.
Commitment:
None  (5+ offers)
Lutui is the heart of an always stout Trojan offensive line.  He has a great motor and natural strength that serves him extremely well in the trenches.  More often than not, you can find him driving his opponent backwards or using his athleticism and size to punish guys out on the edge.  Behind Lutui, the Trojans run game will pick up right where it left off last season.

OL Curtis Riser – DeSoto

Vitals: 6’4, 285 lbs.
Commitment: Texas Longhorns (7+ offers)

Riser is a big, powerful guy who plays at right tackle for the Eagles, but will likely move inside at the next level.  It’s Riser’s turn to lead the offensive line following the likes of Marcus Hutchins (Texas) and Evan Washington (LSU) the last couple of years.  He was a first team All-State selection last season.

OL Camrhon Hughes – Killeen Harker Heights

Vitals: 6’7, 270 lbs.
Commitment:
Texas Longhorns (6+ offers)
Hughes has the kind of frame for a left tackle that is highly coveted at the next level.  You hear about motor when it comes to guys in the trenches and Hughes can often be found mauling defenders down field through the whistle.

OL Kyle Marrs, Senior – San Antonio Brandeis

Vitals: 6’6, 310 lbs.
Commitment: Oklahoma Sooners (8+ offers)
Marrs is a huge presence at right tackle for the Broncos.  He has played an integral part in the success Brandeis has enjoyed on the ground the last couple of years.  He started on varsity as a sophomore and blocked for 2,400 yard rusher Noah Copeland.  As a junior, he blocked for 1,7oo yard rusher Quincy Adams.

OL Mike Matthews, Senior – Fort Bend Elkins

Vitals: 6’3, 260 lbs.
Commitment:
Texas A&M (4+ offers)
Matthews is another in a long line of top offensive linemen from his family.  Don’t let his offer numbers fool you, he committed early and most knew he’d follow the footsteps of his family to A&M. Matthews plays the all important position of center and he’s one of the best in the country.

ATH Bralon Addison, Senior – Fort Bend Hightower

Vitals: 5’10, 185 lbs., 4.4
Commitment: Texas A&M Aggies (8+ offers)
Addison is a dynamic athlete that can excel at a number of positions.  For Hightower, he plays quarterback which allows him to touch the ball and make a difference on every offensive  snap.  That’s a smart move because Bralon has incredible vision and more moves than a bowl of jello.

K Jake Wilcox, Senior – San Antonio Reagan
